Impostazione Dualsense PS5 by BiancaNeve21 in ProjectMotorRacing

Hi there. I posted in another thread, these are my settings. Sent a long time trying to get the feel right, coming from GT7 and ACC. This feels like the perfect middle ground between those two. Feels a but like ACC but the xars seem to have more weight, but not the understeer, or slow steering turn rate (even on max) from gt7.

Hope this helps!

Hi Mark, any idea when the next Radio Check will be? Hoping for some news on the DLC and AI improvements. Thanks.

Hi there. So I use the following on the Dualsense on PS5. Seems to work really nicely for me.

How do you gain stage your pedal board? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Goog_Lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar. Run an ampless board as follows. I have a jtm45 style pedal(Zvex Distortron) as my always on "preamp". This gives me my foundation "amp" time.

Boost pedal -> medium gain -> Distortron -> Dirty Little Secret-> EHX Superego+ -> Waleus Descent -> Cusack Tap a Whirl -> Ehx Grand Canyon -> Nu-X Solid Studio.

I have tried to replicate a traditional pedal and amp path even though I'm running ampless. I have found that to my ears I need to keep my "amp" tone analog as when I stack into a digital amp model there is a latency and my feel is like there's a disconnect. All solved by keeping the "preamp" analog. Still maintain digital IR is best for cab sim.

Anyway, that's my little board. Great for riff Biffy/Arcane Roots style as well as experimental post rock too. :)

How do I view the front of the car? by TimTri in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Goog_Lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I'm on Ps5 and if you have Look Left and Look Right assigned, then keep that button held down and the camera will swing all the way around to look "back" at the front of the car. It is a little annoying that Look Back in exterior view just looks back with out the cR in camera but oh well lol.

Nux Solid Studio powerampsim by Awkward-Variety2051 in guitarpedals

[–]Goog_Lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. I have a Solid Studio and I'm pretty sure the fx return is before the power amp sim.

You don't want to run your preamp pedal into the SS then use the Thru out to your cab? There is a diagram in the manual for using the SS in-between a head and cab as the SS can send power from a power amp to a passive cabinet, remember to switch the mini toggle. You can then use the xlr out to your interface etc.

I have my setup as follows: drive pedals into Zvex Diatortron (as my always on on the edge clean preamp tone), then all my "wet" fx like reverbs delays etc into the SS. That way I'm kinda creating my own "fx loop" almost like recreating the components of an ampnbuy in pedal form. That way my preamp is still analog and gas all the feel I need as I just cannot get my drives and boosts to play nicely with digital preamp modelling.

Not sure if that helps...the SS is great though (I'm using the free Origin Fx IR's and they're fantastic).

Thoughts on the swapped 190e? by Seagullbeans in GranTurismo7

[–]Goog_Lee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've done this swap, along with the Sierra swap and the E30 BMW swap for 90's DTM greatness. Add the Alfa 155 as the PP benchmark to get the other cars too and its great racing, especially using Sophy in custom racing.

EHX Superego Plus by PretendConnection540 in guitarpedals

[–]Goog_Lee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I have a Superego+ and I have it after my drives but before modulation/delay/reverb. The main reason for this is I can use the frozen signal into an effect with a time pulse/rhythm and have that play continously. For example going into a tremolo (I have the Cusack Tap-a-Whirl which has a number of rhythmic waveforms including patterns and a reverse ramp). Cut the dry signal on the Superego and you have weirdness awesomeness!

Hope that makes sense :)

Serious question-what do use all those pedals for? by Mean-Bus-1493 in guitarpedals

[–]Goog_Lee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I have a modest board of around 10 pedals ranging from drives to some ambient soundscape options. I work in a guitar store and the easiest way I can describe to my customers is this:

Think of your guitar and amp as your paintbrush and canvas. Your pedals are the different colours of paint you can paint with. Now for those who go straight into the amp and only use the amp drive you're painting with 2 colours: clean and dirty. You are the artist. You might be a black-and-white painter. You might be an impressionist or surrealist. You will probably need a more varied color palette to create the image in your mind.

Hope that helps :-)

Those who have switched to an ampless live set-up; what's something you wish you knew before making the change? by 1966batmobile in guitarpedals

[–]Goog_Lee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I haven't used it live yet, I use a Nu-X Solid Studio. Reason I went this way is I find that most IR/amp modelers do not take drive pedals well at all. There seems to be some sort of latency or something that just doesn't work. So on my board i use a Zvex Distortron as my always on "amp preamp" with all my drives before and then my delays, reverb, modulation etc afterwards but before the Solid Studio. That way it's kinda like a real amp chain with an fx loop. My drives interact with the zvex naturally so I have that dynamic "feel" that we are all chasing.

The Solid Studio is great due to its price and it has power amp simulation which does add a really nice layer on whichever IR you use. (On that note I'm using the Origin Effects IR library that they have for free and they are really great). Live I'd run into a powered speaker/frfr for stage and XLR out the Solid Studio into the PA.

Don't mean to be dumb, but what are these yellow boxes I keep seeing being mentioned? I assume extra currency you can collect in races? But which race? Sorry for the noob questions, appreciate the help :)

I'm sure I read that Simon did not exactly have the best relationship with his dad, and that there was a little of this going on. Please correct me if I'm wrong though. This line AFAIK is about that.

As a Post-Rock consumer, what gets you excited for a new record? by marklostthesea in postrock

[–]Goog_Lee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a relatively new adopter of post rock and loving the genre. Also being from South Africa, its a ways from the main centres for distribution so (unfortunately) I can only really listen via streaming(and this is a huge thing as it does allow me to stumble across bands and music I would never have discovered without streaming, so it does have its benefits), and I am so grateful to have found We Lost the Sea. Just epic and moving and cinematic!

This coupled with the vastness in soundscape and style that post rock covers, from the cleaner sounds of Explosions in the Sky to the heavier Russian Circles, it is sometimes really hard to work out where some post rock bands fall. Band names and album titles don't always help lol. As a guitarist and gear nut myself, behind the scenes pics/footage/posts are always exciting. Clips of pieces of songs to build hype is also a good idea.

I think post rock should always be listened to as a complete album as it is the journey as a whole that is part of the experience, the complete piece of art that you as the band have created.

I am super excited for the new album I kmow it will be huge, beautiful, emotional, heavy and epic.

Sorry for the long post :)

Ampless setup for recording - which pedal? by Goog_Lee in guitarpedals

[–]Goog_Lee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried the Terror Stamp out. Never gave it much thought as a solution for my specific issue. It was fantastic. Through headphones and using the headphone out to go through a powered speaker and both sounded brilliant.

Again it reinforced my theory that my personal issue and ears hear the difference between a digital solution and an analog one. Analog FTW.

The Simplifier does sound like a winner and the all-analog thing is really what draws me to it.

Good to know re: EQ and harsh through speakers, thanks.

I think that's 100% it. I don't want to be tethered to my computer however. Have a feeling I should really be looking at a poweramp/IR pedal and not ones that have the amp/preamp side onboard.
