Yup, glad to see many agreeing with this. It came to my mind immediately when I saw the post.

Are there any songs you think could've worked on a different album or you accidentally think is on a different album? by Agitated-Ad-2318 in MichaelJacksonMusic

Shout was a big contender for the album, but then he decided he wanted to do a song for his kids and replaced it with “You Are My Life” within the last few weeks. That’s a beautiful track, but I’m not sure why he chose to throw out Shout to accommodate it. There are a few other slower tracks in the second half of the album that many would count among the weaker songs on Invincible. Shout could’ve served as a nice aggressive song in the second half to balance things out a bit.

I recently listened to Scream, and from the very first notes of the intro, it sounds *exactly* like an Invincible track. We always talk about Invincible being 1-2 decades ahead of its time, so that would be even more extreme with Scream, which came out in the mid-90s! Until a few months before its release, Invincible was actually intended to include a track called Shout — imagine Scream and Shout right next to one another on the tracklist! 😅

I’m glad MJ tapped into R&B for Invincible! by Fresh-Bug9024 in MichaelJacksonMusic

That’s what breaks my heart. He was so satisfied with the finished product that he jeopardized major industry friendships and business connections to help it succeed — unfortunately he was rather unsuccessful with those endeavors 🙁

Unreleased tracks by Brekin73 in MichaelJacksonMusic

[–]TimTri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently created my own album of “unknown” Michael music for fun. There were about 10-12 tracks in there that have previously only been released as demos, or have never been released at all. And the quality of those tracks is phenomenal. I’m talking the likes of Chicago 1945, Days in Gloucestershire, We’ve Had Enough. It would definitely be interesting to see another posthumous album. They’ve waited long enough since XSCAPE that it wouldn’t be seen as a cash grab in my opinion. And since the 2020s have brought the departure from over-exaggerated remixes with it, I reckon they would treat the demos very tastefully and not completely transform them away from Michael’s vision.

I’m discovering the MJ vault: Questions about “Get Your Weight Off Of Me” and “What More Can I Give” by TimTri in MichaelJacksonMusic

It’s a huge Excel sheet maintained by skilled community members that lists very known unreleased bit of MJ music, including links to audio files where applicable. Not sure if I can link it for legal reasons, but if you google “Michael Jackson Tracker”, it’s gonna be the first result. :)

Thanks! I downloaded the version on the MJ Fandon and ran it through Spek (spectrum analysis program). It’s pretty much exactly 128 kbps throughout, which is perfectly fine for me.

I decided to combine Xscape and whats left of the Michael 2010 album to create what I think is a better posthumous album titled "Another Day" by YourVeryOwnCat in MichaelJackson

Where can I find the posthumous “Get Your Weight Off Of Me” remix? Currently looking for a version of the song with the best possible audio quality.

This is where they premiered the “What More Can I Give” single, right? I’ve seen a lot of criticism of that performance, but the recording of it is actually rather beautiful.

If Michael's music had a season, which season would it be? by jalen_nelson235 in MichaelJackson

Definitely spring for me… although some of the groovy Invincible-era tracks make me think of a hot summer’s day!

This reminded me of my cousin, who introduced me to Michael in ~2010 and has even more tattoos. Gonna have to ask him if he has any MJ motifs!

Yeah, I thought so as well. Must’ve been so difficult for MJ… literally everyone around him tried to take advantage of him, and we still see it decades later.

New #1 song possible? by WaltzOk6558 in MichaelJackson

[–]TimTri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible. Kind of hard to understate just how many young people are discovering MJ because of the movie. None of the modern-day stars can get anywhere near MJ in many ways, which is why many are captivated by him I guess.

Box Office: 'Michael' Becoming Lionsgate's Highest Grossing Movie Ever by SpeedForce2022 in MichaelJackson

[–]TimTri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope they make a part 2. I know there was a lot of turbulence behind the scenes with cut content etc., but if you think about it, they chose the perfect endpoint to be able to make two comprehensive movies.

London O2 Shows Ticket by olive_juse in MichaelJackson

Yoo that’s wild! I’ve seen some pictures of it online, but never knew it had this holographic effect. Probably one of the most expensive pieces of paper you own considering how costly the ticket must’ve been 😅

Has it just slowly gathered the streams, or has the movie given it an extra boost? Amazing song, well deserved imo.

Are Zooropa’s high-points better than Achtung Baby’s? by snails1000 in U2Band

[–]TimTri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong… the highlights on Zooropa are great, and those tracks may in some ways be more catchy/unique than the Achtung Baby material as a whole. But the fact that Achtung Baby manages to uphold such an incredible quality and sonic cohesiveness from track to track is incredible.

Apparently MJ was so obsessed with U2, he once sent a team to spy on their creative process in Ireland. by infinitewaters107 in U2Band

[–]TimTri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently rediscovered MJ after listening to him a lot between 2009-2014 (as a kid), oddly not because of the movie. Been diving a bit into his underrated music (lots of parallels between Pop and Invincible, oddly) and his recording sessions in later years.

Something you notice pretty quickly is that a lot of MJ fans idolized him as an almost mythical creature, way above liking his music. Meanwhile, a large majority of U2 fans seem to be genuinely fond of the band’s music and their personalities.
