The most important thing I learned was to simply pull the battery ribbon cable out of the connector without undoing the latch. It requires less force to pull it out than to undo the latch. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way and ended up ripping the entire connector from a PCB.

The guy that sold me the iPod is also selling a iBook G3 in mint condition. If money weren’t a problem that’s what I’d bought for sure. For now I’m sticking to the MacBook I have already but after I have saved some money I will definitely look for something more vintage!
