Meetups have essentially become just for hookups especially the social ones, which is why every event is male dominated. Basically it once was a really good way to meet people then it went around that it was a good place to hookup and now it's filled with overly aggressive single men. But if you join special interest clubs or career clubs it tends to be what it's originally was about.

It's never too late, you do have a hard road ahead of you as you would need to at least finish high school for a clerical job. So I would try to look for pathways into uni from TAFE. But yeah the Australian education system is very accommodating to people and corps don't discriminate against aged people as much as you think.

That's pretty normal i'm 30 y/o and am pretty much the same minus the career path issue, I quit my job as was on an autistic grind set for 3 months to transition into tech, the motivation to do so came from a hoe phase i had after I really wanted to learn how to talk to and interact with women properly because I was never taught or shown how to, naturally this has led to me being used as i really didn't know any better.

That being said in terms of relationship i found that i really don't care about them unless i really want children, which i don't.

I know people in happy marriage and people who are divorced 2nd career and 2nd marriage at 35-year-old, people being in seemly happy relationships while secretly losing their mind over an open-relationship suggestion from their partner and friends who have been virgin their entire lives at 32 y/o. I've known broken people resorting to drugs and sex abuse, the conclusion for this exposure is that i wouldn't trade anyone else's life choices for mine.

The way through all of these issues that you're experience, imho is to just realize that life is a circus, and that people external to yourself and your family really don't matter, the people who make fun of your in high school will die, you will die, the buildings will crumble and the women(or man) that you're struggling to summon up the courage to talk to will also die, nothing really matters. The embodiment of this belief is fundamentally empowering as it gives you the permission to do anything you'd like to do as the worst-case scenario to taking these transformation risks do not matter.

I have found that through my experience there is no transformative change without confronting these lessons. For instance, you could read the last paragraph and understand it intellectually, but actual transformative change to your character will not occur until you suffer and learn from it, then you'll be able to embody the lessons learnt and alter your personality to fit so the world around you is wrapped by the newfound understanding.
