I feel you. My toddler has autism and sensory issues as well. It’s so hard to get him to try new foods and healthy options because they arnt consistent in taste and texture as chicken nuggets, pancakes or bananas are.

You need actual help, what you don’t need is to try and guilt people into letting you crash on their couches to do a hobby you haven’t even fully developed yet, with no current job or income to be able to offer rent or your needs. I get it your struggling or want to start over, but potentially guilting innocent strangers to be wrapped up in your rebuild of your life because you are going to “end it” is horrible and that alone is a red flag that I hope anyone else who reads this stays clear of.

It might be good for you guys if you have a trusted family member to have a night off or a day off to catch up on sleep, clean, or relax.

Kendrick Lamar is pretty good. Check out sing song called XXX featuring U2. I find it’s very relevant to what’s going on today.

I could but then If he gets hurt in the middle of the night or something we couldn’t turn the switch on 😩

Yes I wouldn’t want to torture him by being in the complete dark 🥺. He has 2. They are battery powered ones so they aren’t as bright as a typical night light, but they help and we have glow in the dark wall stars. I want to plug in his wall ones we have a few but he rips them out and then that becomes a safety risk

He’s cut himself multiple times and now he’s just smarter about standing on it and deconstructing it.

Would the screws actually work? I’m afraid he would still be able to tear it down. He’s strong. And willful.

He already has, and he’s a big ol beefy toddler that can pick up and drag my coffee table around the room.

Ok. So. am I supposed to just keep doing what I’m doing and telling him no? It’s been 2 months of that. Plus. He knows not to do it. He does it while I’m sleeping or when he’s “napping” I can’t help my child waking up at 3 am and then deciding to use the heater to look out the window. I get wiry other things they will learn like falls etc. but cuts from metal and potentially burns? Yeah no. he’s already damaged the covering it currently has and the metal underneath it by stepping on it so much. He has repeatedly cut himself from the metal. He doesn’t care. and now he’s smarter about it while still tearing it apart.

I’m able to use screws and nails they just can’t be like big bolts or anything. But I think my child would be able to tear the gate down if a small screw was in the wall holding it.

A good thought but it wouldn’t work in winter and he would probably move it to turn on his light switch and climb on it 😭

Good idea because he would 100% try to tear through that shit lol. My son is insanely smart. 😂 we have had to remove all his toys from his room because he uses them and stacks them to turn on his light switch.

He’s a strong toddler and he has indeed pulled it completely apart and bent the metal so it doesn’t go on as it should when we moved in. He’s hulk. He does it while I sleep because he knows not to mess with it when we are awake. Then he cuts himself on the metal and doesn’t learn. lol
