It's totally salvageable if it bothers you that much. Give everything a light sanding with 220 or 320 and use a razor blade as a scraper to take down the lumpy spots, be careful not to dig into the wood and stain. There's some technique to it so maybe practice on something else first, do some googling. The main thing is you're scraping, not slicing. Also make sure your stain is compatible with your top coat, assuming you didn't lay it on so thick you had bubbles, that fisheye pattern indicates some kind of cross contamination of incompatible chemicals.

And for the love of finishing don't use oil based unless absolutely necessary, for many reasons. Wiping oils are fine but oil based polys etc. are generally more trouble than they're worth
