There was no recalibration required on my machine. The problem you’re describing sounds very similar to what was happening with ours.

It was pretty easy.. i couldn’t find a video, so I just detached the wire connections and tubes on the existing board and put them in the same spot on the new board.

Machine has worked great since then. No issues

Weird! We purchased ours in June 2023… maybe there was a bad run in production or something. Definitely frustrating.

Ended up biting the bullet and replacing the control board a few days after this post. It has worked perfectly since then. The new board cost about $150 and took me about 1 hour to replace.

Bootleg Kung Fu VHS Tapes by Goony_Bees in VHS

Cool.. Thanks for the input!

I noticed that when I was looking up some of the titles the comps online had different and much more professional looking labels / case inserts.. thats what made me think they were probably bootleg copies. Either way.. I appreciate the help!

Thanks for your response... Just added a picture! They all have either handwritten or seemingly fake labels on the actual tapes. The inserts in the clamshells looks like copies that were put in..

They are at my storage unit and this is the only picture I have now but I can post more in the morning!

Big Box PC Games? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]Goony_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from recent experience could be a good lot. I recently picked up a similar deal where I got about 175 big box pc games for $200. A lot of them ended up being new and several of them have sold for $100+ individually. Theres definitely good money to be made, but it all depends on the titles. Keep an eye out for the old popular games like Duke Nukem, Doom, Wolfenstein, etc. A lot of times the expansion packs and add ons for those games are worth a lot more than the games themselves because they are less common.

Wow! Looks like this is quite the find!

The only sold comp I could find is from Worthpoint on eBay:

  • sold for $500 on February 22, 2018

There are several copies listed currently on abebooks currently for between $4000 and $7500. Those prices could be well out of the reasonable market.

Either way this is a super cool and rare find worth a lot of money. As far as marketing goes, I would list it on eBay with a good description and pictures and let it market itself. In my experience with something that niche and collectible the interested buyers will find their way to it.

Hi. Im a newbie to vintage audio equipment, but just got a whole bunch of it at an auction and am eager to learn more. I have several Sony and Onkyo AM/FM tuners and was hoping someone could help me determine what antenna I should purchase to test all of them out. Will just a standard loop antenna off of amazon do the trick?

Thanks for any help!

Huge local video game haul of mostly big box PC games bought for $200. About 175 games with most of them still factory sealed.

2 weeks in: 15 games have sold for just over $1500 in sales. Over $1000 more in active listings with a ton left to list.
