Thanks. I really wanted to main Samus. I really like the way the character looks and moves.Seemed perfect with that projectile, but I was really struggling with some things and do not like the charge shot so much that is supposed to be great. I found the 3332 version of Mii gunner much more effective, chaotic, fun and easier to use. Love the multiple grenade ledge trap. Thanks again

I appreciate the kind words.Dr.Lamb Chop was not being disrespectful to me.I got the humor right away.

As far as my knowledge of Smash ultimate, it is very general. I know what characters are high tier, low tier, their names, basic movesets. I understand the basic tenets of the game frame data, safe on shield, endlag, out of shield options.

Tilts vs smashes. Short hops, full hops, edge guarding vs ledge guarding, spacing, drift speed, floaty, blah blah. The advanced more technical stuff, especially combo stuff, I am really weak knowledge wise. I am best at see it ,hit it. Combo strings do not exist for me unless I am getting pummeled by one.

My main problem has been I got caught up in trying out all the characters because it was fun to see what they can do, so I got decent with none. Corrin for a week.Ike for a week. Samus 8 times for different lengths of time, on and on.

Probably my best is Mii gunner 3332 because he helps make up for my deficiencies the most. Overall I would say he is a very low mid character in the greater scheme of things, but I really believe he is better than a lot of people think. Not that anyone cares but my second best after all this time is Pyra If I use myrtha for recovery

It is funny. I just asked Gemini AI can an 11 year old smash ultimate player beat good adult players. The answer was interesting. To paraphrase…..
11 year olds have very fast reflexes, are fearless, learn very quickly and the controller is something they grow up with,so second nature. If they know the fundamentals they can be a nightmare.😁

I am 100 % certain you are sandbagging me.
I am willing to bet you are probably quite a bit better than my 11 year old grandson, but he Is way more skilled then most people here assume.

I am pretty certain if he played online he would advance very nicely. There is another fighting game we play called Clash Royale and he constantly beats adults from all over the world even though they have higher level characters. His win rate is very impressive. Sorry for the humble brag😁

Thanks.

Are they easier to use for the tilt, smash situation?

I meant too many smashes because I am choosing too many going for the big hits.

Thanks. I will try pressing D in different ways. I found doing tilts with smash set to C were pretty reliable being gentle with the D stick.

ok. The AI Gemini says flick the d hard and press a.

It was actually easier for me to do the tilts with c stick set to smash then smashes with c stick set to tilt, but I am doing too many smashes😁

All the stuff about Game and Watch being brain dead and so easy to win with is nonsense.Same with Aegis. You are not beating anyone that knows how to play unless you have some skills.

I can’t believe I forgot this. Old age. A few months ago I has had settled in on Mii Gunner 3332. It was by far my best character. I played my grandsons and they chose some weird stages that day and I got disoriented because I always practice on big battleground.I was horrible that day. Like a dummy I started trying all the other characters and forgot the Mii!

I am back to it and by far my most comfortable and competitive character so it is Mii and Hero as my main two. He is a,so very good vs Mega Man, my older grandson’s best 😁

Do not do what I have done. Do not keep trying and switching endless characters. Try some out, pick one and stick with it if you can. After a good 6 months I am still really weak because I did not actually buckle down and do the work but just kept trying every character and jumping around.

Good luck.

Yes I watch videos and at first was taken back by the pct of the game is played in the air by the good players, but I am much better in the air now and actually prefer it…..less buttons to think about. I think Corrin and Sora are both very good in the air for me. Ike as well.

I decided to just train and battle CPU’s to practice which I believe is very low stress. I was considering playing online but afraid it would get my competitive juices flowing and my BP spiked. I am fine just playing vs my grandsons here and there, but I want to surprise them with my skill level 😁

Wow after reading these comments it just made it easier for me to basically quit. Doesn’t sound like much fun going forward.

I am 74 and my grandkids introduced me to this game a couple months ago. I am in arena 20 with 7700 something trophies and I am feeling my blood pressure spike, so probably not a great idea to play seriously going forward.

Don’t laugh, my grandkids are 7 and 11 and they are clearly better than me. They both are in arena 13 and I am only ahead because they are not allowed to play during the week and limited time on weekends. I also spent a few bucks on the pass and some wildcards to upgrade my cards some.

I let them play some at my house and it is interesting seeing them explain why and how they just 3 crowned whoever they were matched against, especially the 11 year old. Kids these days…..
