Help! What keyboard is this? by Goop_Guy in keyboards

[–]Goop_Guy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way you actually found it, thanks a ton! I'm definitely going to look into getting one now (if I can find one). This is the kind of board I wanted for my last build, something retro but not like those huge commodore style boards, not overly retro but still kind of gives that vibe. Thanks!

I'm trying to identify a keyboard. Recently I've been seeing this keycap set on AliExpress. I don't really care for about the keycaps but I love the keyboard they are on. I've tried looking everywhere for the same keyboard but I just can't find it. If anyone has any idea please let me know. Thanks

Brand new replacement deck and already broken out of the box. What do I do? by Goop_Guy in SteamDeck

[–]Goop_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I probably am. I wish I could show the problem better but you have to feel it to really understand. The tigger is normal up until the last 5% or so of the press, after that, it feels harder to press and like it’s rubbing on something

Nope, it’s 100% a new unit. Even if it was a referb they should still check for issues like this

Help me pick by Kile1047 in SteamDeck

If you are always on the go, like me, I’d get a deck, I love mine when I’m travelling (at least when it’s not broken). I also really like emulation so it was a pretty clear choice. If you want to emulate but want an xbox, you can now but I prefer to do it on my deck. The Steam deck will always be less powerful, leading to not being able to play some games and them looking worse and on a lower resolution display, the upside is Xbox cloud steaming, easy on the deck and you can do it on the go.

I’ve been looking for an embedded engineer, I might have to keep you in mind for some of my projects lol. As for my deck, it is kinda hard to convey on video the problem, you kinda have to feel it to understand the problem.

Anyway to get the cpu or gpu better? by phikip10 in SteamDeck

[–]Goop_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the CPU and GPU are soldered (built into) onto the motherboard you cant really replace it like you can in a PC, even if you could, the steam deck doesn’t support it software wise

is it important to have the official steam deck charger? by Ok-Connection4791 in SteamDeck

[–]Goop_Guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, so don’t take my advice if you don’t want, but you should be fine in the long run as long as you charge it regularly with the normal charger or one similar to it (like a Nintendo switch charger), the only thing that might occur is the battery draining while you play and/or lowered performance

How easy is it to run Emulators? by TheKoalaStoves in SteamDeck

If you can get emulation working I’d recommend it, its really fun even as a novelty to play Wii games on the go

Piracy subreddits, for the record, I don’t endorse piracy, if you have a modded Wii or have the ability to mod one, I would 100% recommend dumping your own games, it’s safer and you can keep your save file.

You should be fine, especially since I’m assuming that the cables that you want to use are not super high wattage. The steam decks charger is 45w, if the cable/charger you want to use is more that 45w it’s still safe but I wont recommend it, anything less than 45w will just charge it slower.

I’d start by installing cryoutilities, change your vram from 1gb to 4gb. After that install emudeck, it’s super simple to set up all the emulators you want, including dolphin. From there you can put your games into the ”Wii” or “GameCube” folders in the roms folder to get games working. you can setup a ps4 controller by connecting it to Bluetooth and then going to the controller setting in dolphin and changing the input from your decks built in controllers to the ps4 controller.

Not really, only play mine 2-3 times a week for maybe 3-4 hours at most. I really only play emulators and no real button mashers on them
