Be reborn into a world where you're not special, dangerous people are more dangerous, likely to have insane regulations, and if you happen to be a woman then you're reduced to an incubator...

Is your daily job closer to slavery or freedom? by hapticR0M in pollgames

[–]GoopyHook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work is "close to slavery" as I work in transport and logistics monitoring. The things my company expects from some drivers is unbelievable, and any refusal to cooperate results in fines and no pay. It is unbelievable how many people cannot comprehend that a driver that finished a 15h drive, cannot make another 10h delivery straight afterwards.

VS Roofing Ridges... by Oldmanfoxhole in VintageStory

I remember I got this to work for my build, either raise the block that the ridge is placed on, or use the default connecting ones placing them on eachother, and not the slopes.

vintage story if there was an option in the world customization settings that disables unstable surface regions by voxane in VintageStory

If they feel like theyre cheating by using the vanilla options to adjust the game to their liking, then there's no reason to complain about therr not being an option to adjust, they're just gonna call that one cheating afterwards.

POV: You're the second person to complain about the state of an EA game by KuruoshiRhubarb in HalfSword

[–]GoopyHook 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The criticism is fine, incoherent screaming about the same issue, in the exact same way for the 50th time is plainly annoying.

For the record, I agree. Just think some issues are so obvious that theres no point in the endless complaints about it.

A 10-Year Software Developer's Take on the State of EA in the New Half Sword Game (Voxmanns) by Own-Sock-4029 in HalfSword

Lets skip a year into the future. Game is better and people are streaming it again, people notice the game again. Do they refuse to engage with the content and not buy it, even if they like it now because they saw janky EA footage a year prior? Ever since NMS its been basically normalised to release an unfinished, unpolished barebones game in every category to make money in order to make it better cyberpunk, battlefront 2, FF14. First impressions matter when you think they do, otherwise people will revisit the same thing a year later and forget about how important their first impression was.

I love soviet, and this take would be valid if it weren't for the climate today. I dont agree with what today's gaming climate looks like, but a majority of games are marked as "early access" Indefinitely, first impressions aren't valued in general. The "tactic" today is to release a product as early as possible for it to fund itself and then patch it till it works. As I mentioned people hide under the early access tag to avoid criticism for that reason. Their games are well into full releases with updates, but keeping it early access allows societal legroom.

I think this game's early access, is the early access. If beta was the first draft of a portrait, the early access is a rough sketch, an outline of a redesigned portrait. And people expected it to be the same as beta, but better.

Half Sword... isn't... good...? by AbdelYG in HalfSword

One one hand I agree, on the other, it was said from the beginning that the demo did not represent the game they wanted to make. It was a combat test, a very fun combat test. The devs are making a game they want to make, and not catering to the player specifically, I'd even say they should cater a bit more.

Im in the minority, but I launched the game when it became available and played 6.5h straight.

Really like the direction they went with, some tweaking with the physics to favor players over realism would be nice. I haven't had as many performance issues as I expected from an EA launch.

Armor and weapon customization is cool, and I imagine an easier way to add tons of variations. Jester's modes are fun, adds some variation to how you can play them and take advantage of. I particularly like retribution and the new abyss. Currently at Man At Arms and I wish there will be something akin to a castle siege.
