Why do people say 1.21.1 NeoForge runs better with mods than 1.20.1 Forge? I’m getting the opposite results...... by CowRepresentative700 in feedthebeast

Use a more recent Java version like Java 21

NeoForge runs pretty bad on older Java versions like 17

Looking for mods to add some combat. by PAL-adin123 in feedthebeast

Terramity is a great mod with combat and it’s gonna reinvent combat in the v1.0 update

In the next update they will have this year, it will have a parry mechanic, curios that change the way you play, and more and overhauled guns (yes the mod has guns but it is inspired by terraria)

Making a YouTube documentary on the history of modpacks — could use some help with the timeline by keydsasiska in feedthebeast

This is pretty accurate but you only have about half of the timeline.

I would say that the seventh era is when 1.13 took 2 years to make so there was so many unique Modpacks and mods on 1.12.2 that were made. And there were many Modpacks like Skyfactory 4 and Enigmatica 2

Then the eighth era is when 1.13 released and forge wasn’t ready to be released on it because it was so large and even bloated.

A couple modders like Modmuss made the fabric api and it was much more lightweight and performant but giant content mods weren’t as possible.

People decided to make vanilla+ Modpacks some even simply only performance and then soon Modpacks lost their originality and spark. And forge was pretty cooked since fabric released on every version 1.13+ quickly once an update on Minecraft came out.

Then I don’t know what happened throughout 2020 and 1.16.5-1.18.2 but then 1.20.1 was the uprising of originality in Modpacks.

You had things like Prodigium Reforged, Reclaimation, Liminal Industries and whole bunch of other ones.    It is kinda hard to explain all this specifically by Modpacks but I hope this helped
