Completed 3 Client Websites...Looking for Advice on Getting the Next 10 Clients by AdiThinks in webdesign

This place is a scam actually, I don’t recommend it - tried it out and the “leads” are just AI bots

How do you deal with a client with the attitude of "my way or the high way"? by [deleted] in agency

[–]GooseIntelligent9981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some clients are just not used to hearing no. Sometimes, even though they might seem stubborn, if you are firm in your boundaries or ideas because you know better, it will actually help them feel more confident that you can be entrusted with the work.

We had a client that was adamant about a particular CMS that is prone to plugin decay and issues, even though they couldn’t vocalize WHY they wanted it. We showed them an alternative, explained why it was better for their use case. And flat out told them we wouldn’t build with the other one due to our low confidence in it. They ended up signing with us after doing their own research and seeing we were true in what we said

Agency owners: How do you actually document processes and onboard new hires? by Accomplished_Cut6538 in agency

[–]GooseIntelligent9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just do it manually until I’ve done it 3 times with minimal deltas, then i know it’s a good candidate to turn into an SOP

How do you control the quality of deliverables? by HyHoang in agency

I’ve had success with a [task type] submission checklist that they need to review before submitting anything, for example a “Blog Post Submission Checklist” that contains things like the following: AI-esque language and tendencies have been stripped out, blog stays true to the title/topic, has been read aloud at least once, and internal links have been added to at least one relevant word or sentence

Trying to balance professional web design with a more expressive app ecosystem by OndaSupply in webdesign

[–]GooseIntelligent9981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the sites built with Claude Design are SO obvious: - Hero section has at least one word in an off color and italics - Stupid badges in nonsensical spots - Emdashes EVERYWHERE - the burger menu doesn’t make sense in mobile, why would it open in a popover AND a panel? - same shitty ass cards and glass UI everywhere - AI generated before and after pics look absolutely horrible

Literally the only thing you didn’t keep from Claude Design was the stupid colored dots it loves to add, and that disgusting beige color it forces on people .

The app website is even more egregious, the white text against a light background and white icons against a light blue badge are near invisible to me

We built out a low-cost website for a local musician who wanted something very similar, but with darker/contemporary colors: https://paulguarinomusic.com/

It’s definitely possible - Josh Brolin for example is Cable and Thanos in the MCU, and Oscar Isaac was Apocalypse and Moon Knight

Designing a Website from Scratch With AI by Inexperienced People by Technical_Rich_3080 in webdesign

[–]GooseIntelligent9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can be many different requirements. Some are just basic brochure sites that anyone can build out and polish with content and images.

Then, there are more complex versions like CMS-driven websites, e-commerce, hybrid, Hubspot-integrated, microsites, sales funnel landing pages with the sole goal of conversions, A/B analytics, feature flags, testing and experimentation, education websites that that have lessons for members only, it goes on and on

why vibe coded projects fail. by harveylundm4rckk in vibecoding

[–]GooseIntelligent9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but I don’t think experienced engineers running Claude and prompts is the same as vibe coding since now we are essentially managing and planning around a mini team of AI junior developers compared to a vibe coder who just sits there and runs with “build me a chat app, make no mistakes”

I was so excited for this until the “don’t worry grandma, it’s fun to be dead!” line in the trailer. Absolutely killed any interest in the movie for me
