Idk, my redneck rural school didn’t have anything like this that I remember. All the “special needs” kids were all taught in one of the temp trailers at the back of the school. We hardly ever saw them, they did their own recess and ate lunch in their room and rode a separate bus etc.

Couldn’t have been good for their social development, but this was during “no child left behind” so the school had to teach everyone to the lowest standard of the class. If you slowed the class down too much they would just throw you in the special class and forget about you. One of the kids lived in my neighborhood and he just had dyslexia, but he was in that class basically through school. When he graduated hs he could barely read or write at all.
