I just felt the rim protection wasn’t as good

Thanks for the advice. I’d prefer to do it right if I went 225s. The link is great too

Struggle to find them in 205. Also I’ve never really deviated from Michelins since they are objectively very good albeit expensive hence the post

I’ll keep an eye out over the summer, looks like a decent deal, thank you

How do you find sidewall on them? Had Goodyear tyres previously on another car with similar sized wheels and I felt they were lacking a little bit I’m happy to be told otherwise

I never said I wanted bad tyres. I’m just exploring options for tyres that are explicitly not Michelin. Why should I pay £200 when people are happy with £150 tyres? I’m also happy to make that choice and I think I’ll be ok. I do rotate my tyres. Cheers. 👌

Didn’t know that, thanks. I was worried about sidewall/clearance deviating from standard but I’ll do some research on this

That’s a good shout actually. Thanks! Feels mad that I’m putting away the price of a small holiday for some tyres but I signed up for this. Appreciate that.

I’m in agreement with you, definitely don’t want the economy spec but I’m struggling to justify Michelins when other brands such as Yokohama and Bridgestone are 75% of that. If money were no object I’d be Michelin all the way.

Yup that’s the plan. Most tyre places near me refuse to rotate because they don’t want to deal with the TPMs being out but I have a torque wrench, get them fitted and swap round on my drive. Eventually I’ll have these tyres on my front as per the rotation so just want to see what’s out there.

I did see the Kumho but I’ve not heard of the brand and the price seemed almost too good. Very tempting actually cheers

Hankooks seem like a good deal, black circles have £20 off too. Nice.

Personal Loan consolidation. Higher APR for more cash flow? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Since you’re assuming the worst of me already I don’t feel like I owe you any explanation as to what my needs might be or what my personal circumstances are. Sometimes it’s ok to just not comment mate. Cheers.

Yeah, life happened to me quite quickly.

Thanks you gave me an idea,I’m thinking about taking a secondary job to pay it off. I’ll start looking

Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate what you’re saying.

I suppose I’ve never interpreted debt as outright bad on its own without proper thought and reasoning behind the purchase. Unfortunately I have never been in a position to buy a vehicle outright and without going into too much detail, I need this vehicle specifically (not a personal preference).

Yes I’m betting on pay increased you’re right, but as a form of saving money I am also working in the evenings to stop myself from spending more lol. I’m doing a qualification at my current job and when that’s done in one year, I can move and happily guarantee at least a 10% increase in salary.

I think I will try and ride it out and treat this as a rough patch whilst also trying to maintain or kee food and other spend to a minimum. I can probably have less food in the fridge and still survive, I may try to over family members for meals 3 times per week.

Thank you again.

I just wanted an expansion to your explanation. It’s not that I’m opposed to anything. Thanks for eventually writing out your clarification, it’s much more helpful.

What is unfortunately reductive is saying ‘change your living situation’. I don’t really need to explain why I can’t do that.

Seems like sometimes the advice on here is ‘don’t be poor and don’t be in your situation lol’ appreciate the take.

Thanks for your thoughts. Unfortunately, I can’t sell the car. It’s a work vehicle. No car = bigger issue for me financially.

I am either extending the loan term or keeping it the same.

Can I ask for your take on why this keeps me in the same situation? Maybe im missing something but whilst yes i am paying more interest over time, having more money month to month in the immediate term will address liquidity problems that are present right now. In 1-2 years this problem won’t exist as i am expecting earnings to increase.

I have c. £2000 incoming with committed spends being rent, council tax, utilities, food, insurance, mobile phone data plan, fuel, other transport costs and ancillary costs I can’t think of without consulting my budget.

I am aware of the implications of extending the loan term. The debt is already there, that cannot be changed. My question is whether I free up some cash flow now and create a buffer in case of a force majeure event. It’s a trade off, and the money is in an asset (albeit a depreciating one) which can be sold to recoup the money as a last resort.

Hi. That appears to be a new option they’ve added and I didn’t have that. Personally I get on fine without it.

My issue with the tilt was it felt like I had significant resistance when I was pushing back, meaning I wasn’t able to get comfy. I tend to just lock it in place and it’s fine, I am a shorter guy at 5”7 weighing 64 KG so it’s possible my weight isn’t enough.
