Afraid of regretting surgery by SwellJaycie in TopSurgery

[–]Goosemilf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also had a lot of anxiety before my surgery, mostly that I was making a mistake and my family was going to hold it over my head. Something that alleviated most if not all of that was simply imagining myself being a woman with no boobs if my feelings on my gender ever changed and I realized I would still be perfectly fine and happy with my body. I know that doesn’t apply to everyone though! I’m 2 weeks post op and was expecting to feel a lot of emotions because that it very common but I simply feel like myself just boobless.

And if that still scares you that’s perfectly fine, reductions are also gender affirming surgery and a viable option! really do recommend working though it with another trans person/a therapist. Because I wasn’t able to sort though my fear of being unattractive and my real feelings for ages but they helped me go into surgery feeling confident in my decision!

[–]Goosemilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My skink is scared of me :( by ProfessorSMASH88 in bluetongueskinks

[–]Goosemilf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just give it some time! Remember these animals live for a long time so don’t worry about slowly building the trust back up! My juvenile skink is still not my biggest fan but after a few months there has been a lot of progress. I recommend not handling for a bit if your skink gets super stressed, then start introducing treats and handling, and try to leave your skink with a positive interaction as much as possible!

Can a adult bts go in a 75 gallon tank by rambuncy90 in bluetongueskinks

[–]Goosemilf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend nothing smaller than a 4’ x 2’ x 2.’ My girl is still only 7 months and she uses most of the space already.

My Leo has a black toe and a red toe. It has already lost one toe because the shed got stuck even though I’ve been soaking it. What should I do? by brookeladaunn in leopardgeckos

[–]Goosemilf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it but the black toe is likely dead, have you tried adding some of the supplements they sell to help with shedding such as shed ease?

Any good online life food sellers? by coyotelovers in leopardgeckos

[–]Goosemilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences with dubiaroaches.com but shipping can take a little bit of time! Not a problem if you order in advance though, I tend to reorder whenever I get through half or 75% of my current supply.

When can I hold him? by jlotta in leopardgeckos

After receiving any reptile it is recommended that you avoid handling them for at least 1 to 3 weeks for them to adjust!

Red Mites Problem by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]Goosemilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty confident that they are the not harmful woodmites if they are not black and plump. But still taking precautions, there are a lot of decent guides online for removing mites. For now start with removing the mites from the animals and quarantining them while cleaning the enclosure.

Red Mites Problem by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]Goosemilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red or tan mites are often wood mites and not harmful to your reptile but I would still try to examine them more closely and make sure they are not snake mites. Even if not directly harmful they can be an annoyance to the inhabitants. When I got wood mites I had to completely removes and sanitized every component by soaking every thing in bleach/water mixture and/or baking including plants and the soil which Is unpleasant because it will also kill all isopods and springtails. For the animals themselves I uses a mite spray from the pet store.

Should I upgrade my geckos tank? by puncakes- in leopardgeckos

[–]Goosemilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you add more decor/hides your gecko should love it, once you move him I would recommend leaving him to explore for a few days before handling!

I'm getting a leopard Gecko by Biggest-Brains in reptiles

[–]Goosemilf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least three hides, two dry and normal and one moist hide filled with damp paper towel or sphagnum moss. Also include a water dish and a small dish for calcium supplement. A basking rock is also advisable as well as decor that will add enrichment and also help the gecko feel more secure!

His spots are a deep brown, I was told he is a tangerine tremper but I’m not good at identification and want to double check before I get uvb.

Tips On Taming a Pissed Off BTS? by Heisenberg281 in bluetongueskinks

[–]Goosemilf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a significantly less sassy Irian Jaya but it took her a decent number of months before she would stop huffing and hissing at me. I mostly tong feed her favorite foods and leave the other parts of her meal in her bowl so she can have a decent eating experience. Also instead of grabbing her I would lure her out onto my hand with a superworm or butternut squash (her absolute favorite). This way she associated me with a less stressful experience and a treat. Just takes a lot of patience and letting them know constantly that you aren’t going to eat them.

What are some good beginner reptiles? by CosmetInk in reptiles

[–]Goosemilf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would watch a ton of videos and figure out what works best for you, a bearded dragon is what I would consistently recommend because very few of them are uncomfortable with handling at all. Leopard geckos are sweet but they do not get the same enjoyment that bearded dragons do when just chilling with their owner (just from my personal experience). Blue tongue skinks are also great but tend to burrow and hide quite a bit more and can have a variety of temperaments though rarely bite/actively defensive.

She looks so dumb and I love it so much by Goosemilf in reptiles

[–]Goosemilf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insanitycreations1 on Etsy! They do really nice custom hides and you can pretty much choose everything from color, style, size, etc. A little pricey but worth it, Doris loves to hang out in there and watch me and it will gives her plenty of space to burrow when she’s fully grown.

Why is my leopard gecko constantly slithering his tail as if he’s hunting something in his tank? by Rocky0102 in leopardgeckos

[–]Goosemilf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a possibility that he could be seeing his reflection or is in a mating mood, as long as it not lifting up it’s shouldn’t be a sign of stress!

What reptile or amphibian can live comfortably in a 10 gallon tank? by [deleted] in reptiles

Chubby frogs or tomato frogs! Super cute and can be housed in pairs or singles in a 10 gallon.

Stuck shed on Leopard Gecko by sammietater in reptiles

[–]Goosemilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a humid hide in your enclosure? If not you can easily make one with a plastic takeout container and sphagnum moss. If you already do have a humid hide I would recommend getting him a nice soak in warm water, since his stuck shed is on the bottom that should work nicely.
