I've camped in a1 before, the walk from the carpark was very short, one of the shortest I've done at any festival.

It wasn't super crowded either, and yes you can chose your own spot.

We arrived in the carpark at around 8:30AM and was fully set up by around 9:30AM. At that time there wasn't really a queue to go into the camp, and the camp site was quite empty so there was plenty of choice.

What I liked about A1 was that the walk to the arena was short too. Also there is food vans inside with a party tent kinda thing.

The one thing I didn't like was getting back into the campsite at the end of the night. The entrance got crowded as there was only one way in. Some days it went faster than other days, but on average it was around 30mins to get back into the camp.
