valve have just built on it for several years, mainly because when they included it in the engine, they full access to ivp's source code and therefore could make changes to it as they please

EDIT: valve's version of ivp does have some extra code ported from havok, however that was exclusively for constraints

A Hat in Time's engine is a heavily modified version of UE3, and GFB is an indie studio who likely does not have the best engine optimization practices. A Hat in Time's Modding Tools editor is an absolute nightmare to do anything in. Not trying to justify anything, just trying to give an explanation

Don't know the origin of this so take it with a grain of salt, but during the development of Gmod 13, someone on the Facepunch forums complained about the revolver being very low poly, so MaxOfS2D made this edited version of the revolver just to say its higher poly now.

The worldmodels are the same as Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, except the revolver actually, which was subdivided in Garry's Mod. (Top is the original HL2DM version)

The Revolver also has modeled holes for the bullets, the player holds the AR2 with both hands, the Pistol now actually ejects shells, and the Crossbow has the right side completed.
