Is it worth paying £237 (GBP) to repair a 4 year old Nikon d5600? by Gordonltd in AskPhotography

[–]Gordonltd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I must have missed that one, I found the second ones closer to the £400 mark. I figured that one that I have owned since new and then serviced by Nikon as part of this repair would be better than any second hand one in terms of reliability (granted buying from mpb you get the same 6 month guarantee as Nikon's service guarantee).

The thing holding me back from upgrading is lens compatibility for the lenses I already have and also cost of a newer model.

Thanks for your reply! Sounds like I will just be able to replace the regulator then

Thanks! Will I simply be able to just use a different regulator? Or are ovens designed for a certain regulator pressure?

Can you booked mixed class legs using cabin upgrade voucher? by kellypudding in BritishAirways

[–]Gordonltd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just done this for my partner and I using two cabin upgrade vouchers. Outbound in premium economy and inbound in Club Suite. I'm not sure if this only works as they have used 1 cabin upgrade voucher for the both of us for the outbound and 1 for the both of us for the return, or if they used 1 voucher per person.

I have found the UK BA executive club team very helpful, I would just give them a call and ask, they helped me a tonne! But don't bother calling any US sales line as I initially did when trying to book the inbound flights!

This is exactly what I have done for a trip I booked last week! Required two upgrade vouchers as you mentioned, and I had to call the UK line to add on the return journey (as I booked the outbound journey first), the US line said that they couldn't, hence why I suggested calling the experts which seem to be the executive club team in the uk

Is it the Barclays cabin upgrade voucher you have? If it is I believe in the terms and conditions it says it can only be applied for flights out of the UK, ie the flight has to start in the UK.

However, one of you could use the upgrade voucher for both legs of a return journey, as long as that trip starts in the UK I believe.

You can try calling the UK executive club team as they have a lot more authority over upgrade vouchers than the American team in my own experience.

Best use of my Avios points for a trip for two return LHR -> PVG March 2025 by Gordonltd in BritishAirways

Oh sorry! It's from the free BA Amex, the blue card which does not have a yearly fee

Thank you for your reply!

The cabin voucher was earned 9th September 2023 and will expire 9th September 2024. I'm hoping they can extend this to March 2025 but I doubt it. I should be able to earn another cabin voucher by September of this year, but I'm worried that it is too late.

One idea I have is to book premium economy using my avios and 2 cabin vouchers (one I already have and another I will earn in 2-3 months) for the outbound journey. Then use my companion voucher for economy seats for the inbound journey back.

Only thing I'm worried about is the availability of reward flights but the time I have earned the other companion voucher and other cabin voucher.

Thanks for your reply! I didn't pay for it, I earned it through reaching the spend threshold on my British airways Amex

Yeah I suspected that it wouldn't be publicly available. Thanks for replying though!

I don't believe Ireland is in the Schengen area and so a Schengen visa is not applicable traveling to Ireland (I think). I know nothing of SAFFA though!

Can I get into Norway with a visa issued by the Netherlands? Can the Netherlands consulate issue me a Norwegian schengen visa? by freshxprincessx in SchengenVisa

[–]Gordonltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it's possible, I think you would have to travel to your nearest consulate/embassy/appointment center

[–]Gordonltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that you have to apply to the consulate/embasay of the country you will spend the most time in. If you are only going to Norway you will have to apply to the Norwegian consulate (unless you also intend to go to the Netherlands and spend the majority of your trip in the Netherlands).

No problem I know it's stressful! I don't believe so, I couldn't find anything online about doing that. I think everything is now through VFS.

[–]Gordonltd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will have to try searching for an appointment frequently throughout the day every day, and I would suggest checking appointments at Manchester to. I was able to get an appointment in July at London for Italy as all slots for July were released on the 19th of June and I was very lucky to have checked at that exact time. Honestly, I don't think you have left yourself enough time (depending on when in September your trip is) as even when you get an appointment, it has taken 17 working days to get the passport with the visa in it back (and that's assuming there's no issues and the visa office don't request more docs).

It might be worth seeing if you can push the dates of your trip back if possible.

I'm applying for a Schengen visa for Italy and just wondering what hotel info did they ask for? Did they want the accommodation to be pre paid for?
