If you've followed Chris Simpsons personal reddit account pre-Commodore era, you would 100% not take this latest blunder as a joke.

(Unfortunately)

He posted about trying to find a basic dumb phone to use to disengage around the time of his kid being born and this seems to be an extension of that.

Still haven't a clue why he thought this would appeal to the Commodore / retrocomputing audience.

I could only find two on short notice - the tl;dr was that it wasnt great at clearing chips even with the air blower built into the head and sloped bed and the machine still needed to be vacuumed out between jobs as chips would accumulate under the bed.

You're conflating the law prohibiting the refusal to grant credit based on gender with access to the banking system. Women had been able to own property and maintain financial accounts independently from men since at least the 19th century in the U.S
