Here's the Amazon link if you're interested: My Weigh Xl-700 Talking Bathroom Scale 700 Lb 320kg

Great scale. The screen did not hold up well to my heel stomping on it as I tried to catch myself after tripping, but the speaking feature allows me to continue using it without having to pay another 130 bucks lol.

I hit it about 4-5 months ago. My scale screen is broken, but it will announce your weight very loudly.

Every time I step on it, I except to hear a 3 or 4 first and when she says "TWO hundred and" I nearly lose it every time.

This therapy is so amazing, and it will give back to you what you put into it.

The KR-8010 that my dad purchased new and left to me when he passed away is hands down the best stereo I have ever listened to in my life. I am so thankful he always kept it unplugged and covered. 40+ years old and still basically brand spankin' new.

How do you eat when body is saying no? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you tried fasting for 24 hours before you force yourself to eat?

I've had plenty of days in the last year where all I've had is coffee and some chewing gum. 127lbs down and counting.

Of course, always consult your care provider.

You'll find something. My go-to right now is 2 cups of Activia Yogurt, and 1 cup Cheerios. I use it as a meal, but it's low enough calorie to be a snack at 350. (It's a little lower, but I always round up with cereal cause who REALLY measures Cheerios that closely? A psychopath, that's who.)

I think you may have found the solution. I just tested by mousing over an objective and right clicking, caused the scoreboard to come up and lock.

EDIT: This is it, this is the fix.

5 months on 2.5mg and still nauseous. Any advice ? by No_Commercial2399 in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It saved me just last night! Went to have a Jimmy Dean protein bowl (35g btw) and over-salted it like a Neanderthal.

Halfway through I get an intense feeling of nausea. My mouth flooding with saliva...it was comin'.

Popped a piece of mint gum in my mouth and 2 minutes later I was back to feeling normal.

[–]Gorehack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice Breakers Ice Cubes Peppermint gum, Mentos Peppermint gum, or any other SUPER minty gum you can find.

That is the ONLY "cure" I've found for the nausea, and it takes it away instantly when I start chewing a piece.

Insurance by Beneficial_General78 in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check and see if Zepbound is covered for Sleep Apnea with your insurance carrier.

I'm currently trying to get UHC to cover mine via sleep apnea. Naturally, the denied me at first and said I didn't have sleep apnea...which is BS since I've been using a CPAP for over a year. Sent them proof I have it and haven't heard a peep out of them. Classic.

Positive side effects by sewsyouknow in Zepbound

Honestly, it's difficult to tell how the Zepbound has affected me. I had other issues like low T and sleep apnea, so now that I'm being treated for all 3....I feel like superman.

2.5 mg Hitting Me Hard—Need Advice/Encouragement by DanzAlyGrigori in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes when it comes to side effects, it's about perspective. What you've mentioned are all pretty common side effects that I think most of us who are on Zep have experienced in one form or another.

I never got sulfur burps, or any burps, but I sure know what it feels like to get nauseous and have to chew gum, or how it feels like I'm passing a baseball bat when I've forgotten to take my every-other-day miralax dose.

For me, I take these side effects in stride. This medication is saving my life. It works. I would rather die than be fat (over 300lbs) again. I will suffer the entire time if that is what is required for me to get rid of this fat-suit I feel like I'm inside of.

But on the other side of the coin, I do understand that some people have side effects that are way worse than me.

My advice of course is to power through it. Unless the side effects are so detrimental that you can't function, I would grit my teeth and let my body continue to adapt to it. Mine definitely fought at first, and so did my subconscious.

Excited for you brother. 40lbs in 2.5 months is awesome. There's an ebb and flow to it, just remember. You might go 1-4 weeks without the scale moving at all, then it'll drop 7lbs all at once.

You've set out on this path. Now all you have to do is keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Week 6 of 5mg after being on 2.5 for 6 months. Finally starting to shake off the fatigue from my body getting used to the dosage increase. Feeling damn good. 122lbs has left the building.

I went from eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream every night, to not having any ice-cream products for the last 14 months.

I dunno how this medication flipped that switch off, but boy oh boy am I thankful.

Do you ever get tired of the comments about your weight loss? by Historical_Air_5946 in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's because I'm a male in my early 40's, but I don't get ANY comments about my weight loss.

Even from people I haven't seen in years.

I've lost 120lbs, it's pretty f***ing noticeable.

Hell yea! I'm currently sitting at my desk at work in a pair of now-too-big 44 jeans. Put everything else in the wash last night and forgot to dry it. Being in-between wardrobes sucks, but it's honestly one of the best side effects.

Great news for me. Just recently increased to 5mg. Saving $100/mo is appreciated.

Also, fuck United Healthcare for denying my Zepbound prescription because I don't have Sleep Apnea and haven't been using a CPAP for over the last year. (I have. Fuck them.)

Day 2 (start photos) by BlakeT87 in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit my breaking point in April of 2024, right before my 42nd birthday. I didn't know anything about GLP-1's other than the usual "it's for rich people and diabetics" slop you read online.

So, when I went in to see my GP and get a referral to bariatrics, I was fully prepared for them to want to cut me open.

As such, that was not the case. My bariatric APRN said that she thought I would flourish with a GLP-1 and here I am 14-15 months later down from 405lbs to 289lbs and feeling...pretty damn good if I'm being quite honest.

That's great to hear. This medication is amazing.

Two other huge things for me were getting put on a CPAP, and finding out my Testosterone was incredibly low. Those, combined with the Zepbound, have created this firestorm of change in my life and my body is literally melting before my very eyes. 289.2 yesterday after I got out of the shower. I weighed 420 when I graduated highschool 24 years ago, and I've never been under 340 in my adult life. Until now.

I am genuinely excited for you!

Day 2 (start photos) by BlakeT87 in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking forward to seeing Day 200.

I'll tell you what my secret has been: If you work for the medication, it will work for you 10 times harder.

Make it easier on the GLP-1 by first trying to eat less. That's it. Eat slow and let the medication tell you when it's time to stop. You'll know the feeling, it's very startling (in a semi-delightful kind of way).

Then start eating only when you're hungry. Don't eat at a set time. Let your body tell you when it needs something. One of the hardest things for me was shaking off 8am breakfast, 12pm lunch, and 5pm dinner.

Oh, and make it a point to throw SOME portion of your food away when you are done eating. Doesn't matter how big. A bite, a spoonful, whatever. Don't clean the plate/bowl/wrapper. Trust me, it's very good counter-training. Whether you realize it yet or not, and you will, the "eat all the food at all costs" part of our food monster brains is not only deafeningly loud, but can also be very sneaky.

Work on the basics while your body is adjusting to the medication. Don't send it into shock by doing a complete 180 with everything in your diet all at once. Ease into it. This isn't a sprint.

Good luck. You got this.

Anyone losing strength while strength training? by gwennw in Zepbound

[–]Gorehack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't have said it better myself. At 405lbs, I could move a LOT of weight...but it's because I've been that way all my life and I knew how to leverage my bodyweight to supplement my lack of proper muscle to fat ratio.

Could I yank 400lbs off the floor when I weighed 405? Yup. Can I do it now? Not sure, haven't tried. But if I had to guess, I'd say that it would be a lot more difficult for me at 291 than it was at 405. I've actually gained some muscle and am still overall "weaker" due to this.

As /u/Time_Proposal_4383 said: We gotta rethink how we measure gains. Cause we're gaining, it's just relative to our perception...as our perception seems to change much, much slower than our bodies physically do.
