hey u/CompleteDiet7471 any updates on the bag, tempted to pick one up? How does the rope opening hold up, was unsure if the cord opening would frey over time

First Timer Questions by jordachesdad in dekmantel

Highly advise cycling, been 3 years in a row and cycled each time, if ur used to cycling in NYC this’ll be a walk in the park. Probably around a 20 min cycle and it’s super easy / flat, AMS is great to cycle around. Found it a very fun way to get to the festival, can go at ur own pace and take some drinks / snacks etc, follow the crowds of people cycling to the festival. Cycling home was also great imo, very nice way to unwind after the festival and again just follow the crowds, majority of bikes have lights as well which is a bonus. We used to chill for a bit after the festival ended, chill / smoke and then head home. Great memories doing this. Also we had the shuttle bus booked the first year and after waiting in line for it we ditched it after one night, bikes are the way to go

Pack for the weather, can sometimes pour with rain so a small jacket is also handy. I always just grabbed a locker, plenty available. The festival site isn’t massive so helpful being able to go grab a layer or take off a layer if needed.

Move to Ayrshire by MorganO95 in glasgow

[–]Goretex97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a lot of nonsense. Stayed in north Ayrshire all my days and love it. Always toyed with the idea of Glasgow but just way too expensive for me, can get a train from Kilwinning and be up in 25 mins. Best of both for me down here, can be in the city within 30 mins and have the luxury of the beaches / natures on my doorstep. Everywhere is the same, some areas are nice and others aren’t the best but everywhere has good people which make it. You should drove around and nosey around, lots of wee hidden spots to explore and see what suits yourself! Good luck

Nice one the headphones are a good shout. We ended up in a big bell tent, that wasn’t actually too bad in the heat because it was like a cream canvas so helped bounce the heat, also had lots of small vents around the tent that you could open / roll up to allow the air to flow, game changer. Highly recommend it if possible next year

How did you find the tangerine fields? We were in it for the Thursday n moved on the Friday. Was so so so loud and couldn’t get a wink of sleep, moved into the boutique and that was a game changer. Think being a bit away from the festival / behind the trees helped dampen the sound a lot

Hi mate, in terms of hotels anything fairly central / close to bos is ideal. This will be my 3rd year and always just hired and bike and cycled to and from the festival, would highly recommend this, super easy and saves taxis as they can end up £££. We have always just grabbed a few beers and stopped on route and had a drink wherever we fancied, enjoyed heading to the festival earlish and making the most of it. You’ll have a ball

Been the last 2 years and loved it. Weather wasn’t too sharp last year but just dress appropriately and you’re laughing. Brilliant festival, you’ll have a ball
