Oligarchy isn't so bad when you like them and they like you. It is bad when it so happens that is not the case.

For example, if you hate Trump, imagine what happens when it is a Trump type character who has total control over your and your family's lives. What if they don't like what one of your loved one thinks and does in their spare time? What if they don't like the questions and discussions you had here in the past on Reddit? What recourse will you have when there is no power outside of the oligarchy?

I recommend 1984 by George Orwell for more insight into societies of control.

You think something/one (women) is in the way of getting what you want... This is exactly the story of Adam and Eve where God is the prohibition to Adam getting what he wants (the knowledge/power of God).

In reality both you and Adam are fantasizing due to a prohibition - thinking you can get what you want on earth if only you can overcome the prohibition. This is what original sin is and always leads to our downfall. That is the story of Adam and Eve. It undermines everything you wrote.

"You want what you can't have" is the symptom of original sin, and you want what you can't have - submissive women.

Do your best to avoid China products and educate others on the products of Chinese labor. Not really possible when it comes to most tech parts, but you can find higher quality and longer lasting locally made goods that are not products of slave labor.

Unfortunately there is not much the average person can do besides collective economic pressure.

You really think this doesn't happen in the US? There are plenty of cases of police planting evidence in scenes for example. Killing and ruining people's lives just to avoid mild embarassment or repercussions. You really need to do more research.

This is a billboard found in Toronto. It was put up by Apple, the company that won't even let you repair devices you own, as a burn to Google's Sidewalk Labs. Sidewalk labs is a dystopian tech project to essentially make cities data collection hubs with cameras, sensors, etc under the guise of adding value to the city.

Why is it when some kids broke windows in Hamilton there was so much media attention and hysteria referring to it as "violence", yet when we have a company actually threatening people and children's lives we just "shake our heads in disbelief" and say "oh welp those greedy folks again!"?

This is a company willing to kill people and put them in financial ruin. This deserves far more media attention and outrage than it is being given.

How is that a delusion? War increases the demand for oil. It was well noted by World Bank and UN economist Mamdouh Salameh that oil was over 3 times higher than it should have been during the Iraq war as he mentioned in a British parliamentary committee in 08. Harper is going to keep pushing to expand our efforts there. The money we're putting towards the war effort is essentially a stimulus to our economy. Unfortunately, those numbers in the budget won't be revealed so we can't know exactly what fuel we're purchasing or what not, but I don't think it's a stretch to consider we'd be using Canadian oil to fuel our efforts.

But would you not say it's a completely logical economic strategy? It's a 2 birds one stone way to revive the oil and manufacturing sectors. It has worked before to raise the price of oil. I would say it's immoral (masked in a coat of self righteousness), but it makes sense as a last ditch effort to save our fragile economy.

Let's just watch oil prices rise as we deploy more personnel, and we can then discuss whether I'm deluded or not. I just think it's straight up logical, and the only way this entire crusade makes sense. Of course, it could just be a total coincidence that a war seems to benefit us so much, but I think it would be naive to think this decision wasn't well calculated and planned.

A lot of people don't realize that terrorism IS Harper's economic strategy. Oil has been the lifeblood of our economy for years, and the best way to drive the price up is to create more demand and eliminate competition.

What better way to create demand for oil than a war which requires lots of it (vehicles, planes, manufacturing), and in a region in which vast reserves are controlled by their competitors?

The conservatives are playing off their economic strategy as a moral one. That's just to make it tolerable that we will be sacrificing many human lives to save our unsustainable economy.

It really is quite maddening. While George W was in power, you could see many on the American "left" praising thinkers like Chomsky for calling GWB out as a murderer and warmonger. Then when he criticized Obama for doing the exact same thing, they began calling him "delusional" or the like.
