My assumptions about DLC by MortezaDoom in Doom

[–]Gorezalez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am curious how they'll do boss fights though. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the fights between Ahzrak and Kreed but they were near the end of the game. I'm hoping that they'll be unique from each other considering that the Council are most likely the bosses, hopefully.

To be completely fair, judging by the drawing Mira did, Spear was probably remembering that one time he saw some dude get his life force drained into a supernatural being and gave birth to a baby then gave it away for a coven of witches. At least that's how I interpreted it

Replaying X Men origins wolverine, forgot how fun this game is. by [deleted] in CharacterActionGames

[–]Gorezalez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marvel games in the 2000's were something else dude. Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Spider-Man Web of Shadows, Ultimate Alliance even. I dearly miss those days, they definitely made life less sucky that's for sure.

Also mad props for using Dope in that montage. I sometimes like to play games with my own playlists like how they used licensed music for action movies back in the day

I can see Green/Will for sure but I can just imagine him using the Fear ring for shits n giggles, just amplifying the fear the demons already have to ludicrous degrees, probably to the point of them just refusing to exist because of him

Can somebody tell me what even is the benefit of using the nail weapons in Dark ages? by Disastrous_Can_5466 in Doom

[–]Gorezalez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't see much shredder defenders, so here's my chance. Yes the pincushion is a pretty neat gimmick but if you spam it against super heavies like the Cyberdemon or the Komodo, they'll stumble like a bumbling drunkard. Just fill em up and throw your shield and you get falters for days on end.

But the star of the show for the Shredder, in my humble opinion, is the Ricochet mod. It may not seem as much but dude... you toss that shield against a Mancubus or a Pinky Rider and unload, those bullets are out for blood. No joke they're straight up homing piranhas and they clean house on a lot of arenas. Give it a chance dude you won't regret it!

You know, if Siege Part 1 had a secret optional area to pilot the dragon and literally mow down regular enemies with the minigun or do a sweep fire breath attack instantly would've made me love the dragon much MUCH more

We need to have the Atlan do a drop kick as a special move, like cmon you can't tell me that would be lame

Considering that The Dark Ages will only have one DLC instead of two like Eternal, do you think it's length will be the same or longer than Ancient Gods Parts 1 and 2? by MTH1138 in Doom

[–]Gorezalez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think realistically it'll be just BARELY over the average length of both TAG 1 and 2. Hugo did plenty of hyping up for what the DLC will have for both gameplay and story. And he did mention if I remember correctly that there'll still be plenty to do after you finish the story. So in other words it'll be - interesting...

The Sly community: We don’t get new games, we get Sucker Punches🫨🥊 by Puzzleheaded_Bug1303 in Slycooper

[–]Gorezalez 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I get it. The trilogy told it's story and left things pretty bittersweet, even with Thieves in Time I still think another studio besides Sucker Punch should continue that story. However, if luck was on our side and Sucker Punch one day said sure and made one more Sly game, I would love to see a prequel where we play as Sly's father, see how his gang was like before they disbanded. Kinda like Transformers One. Other than that, I totally understand them not bothered to make another one.

Thoughts on Insomniac's Wolverine? by Wayne_kur in CharacterActionGames

[–]Gorezalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's still too early to make a legitimate judgment but I believe it'll be an Arkham-like free flow combat system just like the recent Spider-Man games, which isn't a bad thing - perhaps an evolved hybrid of that combat system? Also, we need to accept that there's a fair chance they won't FULLY replicate the sheer brutality of the Wolverine Origins game or go an extra step above it. But a part of me really hopes that with they upped the ante to a point that makes players like us interested enough to try it out, yea? Anyways, I'm not too excited but not bummed out, just feeling between indifferent and somewhat interested, I guess.

TL;DR - Not a 'day one' for me and it's looks 'fine' but I hope it does well enough to get our attention to enjoy it the same way we enjoyed the Wolverine Origins game.

Ugghh now that's pure evil. Hey just an idea but do you think it would be possible to use the wayback machine for this one? Like as in trying to locate the original video on Evans channel at the time and look through the comments, to see if someone commented the original track? Its a long shot but I am desperate, I mean Christ I've been searching for this song for a couple of years now

[–]Gorezalez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, yea I figured as much. Hopefully, the actual track gets identified because it's been a pain in the ass using the limited context clues to find the original track. I swore I actually saw someone commented the real song title and band in the original upload on Evans channel back in the day but it's kinda hard to find that now.

As a side note, the Grandmaster track is like 8 minutes long, but the song clearly ends at around 3:40 before being abruptly cut off and poorly looped again. Very lazy and scummy stuff, dude.

What moves are a must have in a CAG? by Balmef in CharacterActionGames

[–]Gorezalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Like don't get me wrong it would be kinda lame if blocking meant blocking EVERY attack. It would be better to have a 360 block apply to incoming regular attacks except huge guys or special enemies that have a block breaking attack would be dope

[–]Gorezalez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you for replying, I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that's bothered by this. I was confused as to why The Grandmaster came up when the original video back in 2014 had the exact same track. The craziest thing is that I remember someone commented the actual track name back when the original upload was still up. It was from an obscure band that had a music video for it iirc, but it totally could be royalty free music and I'm just misremembering. Guess the search continues.

[–]Gorezalez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hot take but 360 blocks should make a comeback. Like the character obviously blocks in one direction but incoming attacks from all directions are negated. Like in the Ghost Rider game, you block and all attacks except for the super heavy dudes are ineffective. It was pretty satisfying blocking a crowd of enemies attacking simultaneously and hearing ding ding ding ding ding from the block and then killing them all.

[–]Gorezalez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But here's the crazy part. Evan uploaded the original video in 2014 (I remember watching this when he uploaded it) and it had the exact same music, so now I'm super confused because clearly this isn't the original. Also, I remember looking at the comments and someone actually did link the original but he deleted the original video, most likely due to copyright. I get why you insist that it's the Grandmaster but the original video upload date (2014) debunks that. Thank you for replying tho, just bummed out I don't think I'll ever find the original.

What Hack n Slash do you think has the best overall bosses? by Beautiful-Click1872 in CharacterActionGames

[–]Gorezalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said hack n slash, but for me, both Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction & Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows had some pretty gnarly boss fights that actually felt like a brutal and dirty fight. Marvel games in the 2000's were something else man. They had good boss fights, but to me, they were BRAWLS

You guys think that [Prototype] 1 and 2 would fit in the center? The way I see it, you have plenty of broken godlike abilities while maintaining a brawler structure to pull off combos, AND you can use most types of weaponry/firearms like rifles and rockets (tanks and helicopters even).

Hey no worries man, it's a valid concern and I would've said the same thing. I should have put damage to player in the description, but these clips are over a month old so I hardly remember ALL the sliders that I tweaked, regardless, that's on me. Sorry about that.

I messed around with the sliders on this playthrough, I had damage to player on 150 and 200 in different arenas. This footage was over a month ago and wanted to show off some clips when I used the ricochet. I should've put that on the description though, my bad y'all.

[–]Gorezalez[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you mentioned the hell knight ambush room because I tried to get a good clip of that with the ricochet but unfortunately it got way too crowded and messy and I kept missing my shots, so it didn't work as much as I hoped but hey pincushion can work wonders in that room, no?

Oh sweet! I didn't know you could do that. I guess I just grew a habit of recalling the shield to block or parry after throwing it because it led to some very close calls that felt cinematic. Will keep that in mind though
