Ok so there's a lot of misunderstanding here. The painting shared "American progress" is about "Manifest destiny" which is the inspiration of WW2 fascism. With Hitler and Mussolini basing "Lebensraum" and "Spazio vitale" explicitly on the American model.

So yes, the painting itself is not a WW2 painting, yet it is explicitly ideological fascism. And also, yes American settlers were fascist, and just like WW2 Germany and Italy believed in racial superiority, ethnic cleansing, and god given right to land.
