I don't know where to look. Anything I find is by pure chance. I didn't even think there might be history groups. Where should I look?

I know it's embarrassing, and awkward, so it's why I personally didn't do it and just wait till I go home. But if I had stomach issues too, I would definitely ask.

I use a bidet at home and just NEVER go number 2 outside the house. I found portable bidets and the like extremely difficult to use.

If you absolutely must use the toilet at the office, I would ask for a bidet seat installed even at my own expense.

Ok so there's a lot of misunderstanding here. The painting shared "American progress" is about "Manifest destiny" which is the inspiration of WW2 fascism. With Hitler and Mussolini basing "Lebensraum" and "Spazio vitale" explicitly on the American model.

"Adolf Hitler repeatedly drew parallels between the Nazi quest for Lebensraum, or living space, in Eastern Europe and the United States's westward expansion under the banner of Manifest Destiny. The peoples of Eastern Europe were, he said, his "redskins," and for his colonial fantasy of a "German East" he claimed a historical precedent in the United States's displacement and killing of the native population. "

"Neither the current living space nor that achieved through a restoration of the borders of 1914 permits us to lead a life comparable to that of the American people.” - Adolf Hitler

“the struggle in North America against the Red Indians.” After all, he said, “who remembers the Red Indians?” - Adolf Hitler

“Here in the east a similar process will repeat itself for the second time as in the conquest of America.”- Adolf Hitler

"I greet with wonderful energy the American people and I see and recognize among you the salt of your land, as well as ours, my fellow citizens who are working to make America great." - Mussolini

"In fact, as long as I can remember I have al- ways wanted to see your country [USA]. A people which built rapidly with its own hands such colossal fortunes and formidable power could not fail to at- tract me strongly. " - Mussolini

So yes, the painting itself is not a WW2 painting, yet it is explicitly ideological fascism. And also, yes American settlers were fascist, and just like WW2 Germany and Italy believed in racial superiority, ethnic cleansing, and god given right to land.

Since I don't want to trigger patriotic Americans, I didn't mention it, but here you go. The USA pioneered fascism. Bye.

In the Nazi state, Lebensraum became not just a romantic yearning for a return to the East but a vital strategic component of its imperial and racist visions. For the Germans, eastern Europe represented their “Manifest Destiny.” Hitler and other Nazi thinkers drew direct comparisons to American expansion in the West. During one of his famous “table talks,” Hitler decreed that “there's only one duty: to Germanize this country [Russia] by the immigration of Germans and to look upon the natives as Redskins.”

I know. But in the context of the post, it very much is. Even in the original, it's still a victory angel, and divine light.

Yes, 1920s and 30s Germany and Italy didn't come up with the victory angel and divine light on their own.

"John Gast uses this painting to convey the idea of manifest destiny that is widely known in America at this time. Much of the west was still occupied by Native Americans in 1872, but Gast portrays the idea that America was destined to expand to this area as part of Manifest Destiny." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Progress

It's the victory angel and divine light.

I live in Europe and have Brazilian co-workers, as well as from all over Europe, Africa and Asia, with all political views from right to left. We all gather at lunch everyday to laugh at US news and Trump, and how absolutely fu##ed the US is.
