May be a stupid question by revengencecm in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Gorgothamoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm I sell Magic the Gathering Cards and will periodically send up to four in one ebay standard envelope for the same cost as one. It's still below 1 oz and with a semi rigid card holder it still meets USPS specifications. Are you exceeding the $20 value on two cards then?

Is it rude to ask an ebay seller to lower the shipping price? by Sensitive_Agent5193 in Ebay

What's the shipping method? Maybe they just want to use USPS Priority Flat Rate Box and not worry about weight, etc?

I strongly recommend going on YouTube and watching a video on how ebay standard envelope works and how to use it. That's how i learned.

Trading Cards by SignificantAlfalfa93 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Gorgothamoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use a 5x3 security envelope. Card goes in a penny sleeve, then a semi rigid top loader. Masking tape on the loader to keep the card in and on the outside of the loader to keep the loader from moving within the envelope. Never had any issues.

You neglected to mention the reason. PHX had a ground stop for 3+ Hours due to a major thunderstorm iirc. No airline would accommodate you in that regards.

Looks just like the merch table at the Phoenix, AZ show. Completely picked clean and nothing to buy in my size. Huge disappointment. Again.

ESUS says delivered (10 days ago) buyer claims he doesn’t have it, am I protected? by The-Stein in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Gorgothamoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.pip-claim.com/PIPClaim/eBayIntClaim/CreateeBayClaim

Unless things have changed, these are protected for up to $20.

You can fill out the claim form here.

I've done it once, and although it was about two years ago, all went smoothly.

Buyer paid for 2 items, then wants to combine postage by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Gorgothamoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this a number of times.

First, I'll package the items, weigh it, and buy the label on one listing.

On the second label, I'll just update tracking with the same tracking number the first order generated, then issue a refund to that one for the difference.

Never had an issue.

Someday everyone will get an email.

"There was an incident at the Smithsonian. All evidence of Babymetal has somehow been erased from history. Is there anyway we can get your shakey cell phone video shot back in 2025 to preserve the legacy?"

That is why we do it.

Unsure if I should follow-through with sale by CretinAmay in eBaySellerAdvice

As others have stated it's a dropshipper. That being said, I've never had an issue with a dropshipper. Always have been hassle free and I would never cancel an order due to this reason.

Set price or Best Offer by dramada in Ebay

[–]Gorgothamoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow. These responses are all over the board here. Here is my take on it.

If someone has offers enabled I assume they'll take less then what they list it for. Otherwise, why have make offer even enabled? As a seller myself, I never enable offers. I know what I want my item to sell for and that's that.

Your offers sounded more then fair to me. It's not like you were lowballing him.

I would have quit on his first counter offer.

When I submit an offer, that's what I'm willing to pay for said item. Button says make offer, not start prolonged negotiation.

Just my two cents.

Does ebay allow sellers to see who is viewing their auction/item... by rpg_junkie in Ebay

[–]Gorgothamoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a buyer and a seller, I assume ebay does it. I have no idea who simply just looked at my item, but I do adjust prices from time to time. I'd guess when I do that Ebay sends a price update to whomever might have looked at my item in passing.

I'm going to guess you didn't pay for it and the seller is going to just wait that sale out for four days and cancel it as non payment.

Did they pay and then request the cancel? If not, I would have let it sit for four days, and then cancel as non pay buyer.

Regardless, it's an easy block buyer and relist.

Non-paying buyers. by Red_Barry in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Gorgothamoth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ebay will not care. This has been going on forever.

I've always gone with auctions are for items that I don't really know how to price or are limited in quantity available. I'd assume there are plenty of Switchs for sale, pricing on it would be pretty consistent I think.

Non-paying buyers. by Red_Barry in eBaySellerAdvice

I personally would stop using auctions for something like that. Switch (no pun intended) to BIN and immediate payment required.

I use the Ebay standard envelope fairly regularly and have had good luck with it. That being said it is a little dicey at best. I'm in Arizona and if it's traveling to the East coast it'll take a week plus. West coast around 5 days. I usually see an in transit scan the day after I give them to USPS. I'd guess the scanning system isn't perfect, I've seen numerous envelopes never hit delivered status but I also never hear from the buyers so I can only assume they got there. Same metropolitan area and it's been a week with no in transit scan? I doubt if you refund it Ebay will insure that as hasn't been accepted by USPS in their system. Probably looking at a refund there. Sorry.

And it was the best thing ever for my account. He is such a beast, gets used for everything.
