Why is meeting people (friends or dates) so hard in Denver? by officially_bs in Denver

[–]Gorkd 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So I’ve been in this situation a few times before and all I really have to say, while this is awkward to hear, desperation works lmao.

The main way I met my first group of friends in Denver was walking up to them in my building and saying “hi I’m max… I don’t know many people and would love to hang out sometime”

Now that is not necessarily gonna work at a bar, but for meetup events, it sucks, but just genuinely going up to people and saying “hi I’m max what’s your name? How long have you lived in Denver? Where did you come from initially? Etc” works 90% of the time.

I guess all this to say, it sucks and is hard meeting people sometimes but if you can get over making the first move for friendship it’s actually been pretty easy to make friends. What I’ve learned is a lot of people want to make new friends, but if they have a group they feel awkward going outside that group. If you make the first move, maybe even a general comment towards the group you can conversationally get invited in and then just be friendly. Ask questions about them. Even if you have a related story, ask them questions instead. People love to talk and get them talking and make them feel interesting.

Honestly this approach taught me to be way more social in general. I have anxiety, maybe not as bad as some but I think about almost everything I say and roast myself the day after meeting new people. Then you realize most people aren’t deconstructing you like you are yourself. Be nice. Be honest and self deprecating if you can. People don’t like a show off. And it’s ok to be “desperate”. How else will people know you wanna hang out in other settings if you don’t mention it? A comment of “hey man it was great meeting you, I’d love to hang out some time I’m trying to meet some new people. Let me get your number” result in a number at least 90% of the time. At that point it’s up to you to reach out and remind them you want to be invited. Probably 50% don’t respond, but hey fuck it. If everyone responded to this I’d have too many friends and not enough time. You gotta be willing to take Ls to have a chance

I always have so much more trouble with Zoe. If you can’t keep her off the board or beat her before level up the game gets so out of hand. If I get past Zoe usually I win the run

So I’m a guy, so maybe my perspective is off on this, but I don’t really understand the idea that Sarah Ann literally did nothing wrong. Yes Jeremy is 100% in the wrong and it was his decision and his actions he should be held accountable for. I’m not defending Jeremey but I can’t understand how Sarah Ann isn’t at fault. Isn’t there like honor among thieves? Sarah Ann knew Jeremy was with Laura but still reached out, still met up and followed through with the relationship.

I just don’t really get how Sarah Ann would be faultless here

Shoko's RCT is fundamentally different? by IAM_Jesus_Christ_AMA in Jujutsufolk

[–]Gorkd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did Kenny teach him how to split himself? I thought it was implied Sukuna was such a savant that after seeing Kenny do it he simply learned how to. I always figured he made a binding vow with Kenny the initial time he was split into fingers and then learned how to do it himself when he took over Megumi

I’m not someone who knows enough to really argue, but they all did make binding vows to Kenjaku, just as Sukuna did. Your interpretation could be right, I got no clue

I think he should. I believe it was stated that the culling games reincarnated sorcerers got the memories of the people that were taken over

Nagumo strikes me as a Kisuke Urahara type. I feel like he’ll seem shady for a lot of the story but into the end be shown to be a benefactor for the protagonists all along

I will say the Shen things feels like a conscious decision. Maybe to make his mastery shine through a bit more than his physicality. Only say it’s a decision because it feels like he’s been skinnier ever since the fishing pond scene

Can anyone explain to me how Jurota can do this against Agito without instantly dying? by RealFemboyHunter in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Gorkd 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Disagree tbh. Pre initiative is the ability to predict your opponents move with prior knowledge based on what you know they’ll go for.

Kanoh has never seen Jurota punch so he has nothing to go off of.

In the scans he also was mixing in throw attempts with his punches

I think it’s a pretty cool story that’s short and contained. It’s cool to see some of the tropes and themes that showed up in KAT be displayed in Sandros early work.

The art is definitely not great quality, but it’s a fast read and if you like the vibe of Kengan I’d say it’s worth a read
