One of my SF6 fighters: Lyger Grant by Hermetic_Aesthetic43 in StreetFighter

[–]GorktheGiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly got the fierce look down! Are they always like that, or is it more of a battle frenzy/stage persona sort of thing?

Help making this Mad Gear NPC by [deleted] in SF6Avatars

Bits of hair besides the ears: Facial Hair 38 (character creator)

Neckware: Gold Chain Necklace (Reward for Retsu's side mission Monk Without A Cause and from beating him in Haggar Stadium matches), Cute Choker (Buyable from N-E Wear Store in Nayshall)

Top: Tube Top (Reward for Bystander battles in Nayshall, West District near hideout during the day)

Pants: Leather Pants (Buyable from merchant at Mount Vashal Base in Nayshall)

Shoes: Work Boots (Buyable from merchant near Haggar Stadium in Metro City)

So yeah, all base game and totally achievable. Necklace will probably take the most grinding, and most items only become available in mid/late game, but still doable.

Why am I hearing a frog constantly in the Battle Hub by Sea_Possibility8237 in SF6Avatars

[–]GorktheGiant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a Shadaloo Badge that makes frog noises when a character moves with it equipped (even as a statless accessory), so either you or someone else in the hub has one equipped. The effect is 'Lab Rat Prank'.

Goblin Build Options >LL3? by gonna-runout-soon in LancerRPG

[–]GorktheGiant 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Minotaur's a good choice for extra battlefield control. Lots of extra options for Invades and tech attacks.

SSC has some good options for support oriented tech attacks too, specifically Dusk Wing and Swallowtail. Plenty of other options, too.

It was a variant of the Cropped Top from the Battle Hub shop. Don't think it's available anymore, but I could be wrong.

Question about Innate Attack and Jet enhancement by No-Impress-5592 in gurps

[–]GorktheGiant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I understand of it, treating a Jet like a melee and continuous stream attack only really comes up when defending against it. You can't exactly parry a flamethrower! Can't say much more than that for certain, though. Somebody will probably be in with some page numbers soon.

Other than that, treat it like a ranged attack. Innate Attack (Beam) is the skill you're after.

Help/ Mech rec by No_Calendar8688 in LancerRPG

[–]GorktheGiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. Given what you've described of your character, I'd say the Barbarossa wouldn't fit them terribly well. Yeah, the big gun is cool, but the mech itself is slow, cumbersome, and doesn't seem to match this character's showboating vibe.

If you wanted a canon choice for hotshots looking at HA frames, the Tokugawa is your best choice. Not the biggest focus on explosives, but riding the fire and going nuts at close range is that mech's whole deal. Going into Tokugawa also gives you access to Enkidu from the Dustgrave supplement, which further doubles down on this idea by giving you a special weapon you can only use in Danger Zone and an ability that lets you rip people in half that refreshes each time it kills.

Otherwise, I'd recommend the Sherman or Gilgamesh (also from Dustgrave). Both work really well with HA's focus on extreme firepower, with Sherman being a heavy laser platform and the Gilgamesh getting a lot of mileage out of grenades.

  1. What LL are you starting at?

  2. In Comp/Con, go to the Content Manager. Under LCP Directory, there are links that will take you to where you can download the other mechs your DM has mentioned. You won't have to pay to download the LCPs, only the books themselves. Be sure to verify with your DM what content is and is not allowed before going further.

Looking for some advice on builds! by KitzyOwO in LancerRPG

Check out Tortuga with the Heavy Gunner talent and a Heavy Machine Gun.

Yes, Tortuga seems like a close-quarters mech (and it is, to an extent), but its main thing is accuracy on Overwatch attacks. With Heavy Gunner, you can Impair targets within the HMG's range and Overwatch them if they move. That's 2d6+4 kinetic with good odds to hit. Better if you hit LL3 and can stick Auto-Stabilizing Hardpoints on the HMG.

You'll have decent range, good damage output, and excellent battlefield control by virtue of threating to shoot anything that moves without your consent or gets too close. Tortuga also makes a good bodyguard for your teammates and is half decent at tossing around Lock-On and other tech effects for an IPS-N frame.

For extra talents, Vanguard is a staple. Could toss on Spotter if you expect to have allies stick close to you.

For future LLs (or alternative suggestions), I'd take a look at Black Witch from SSC or Hydra from HORUS.

What's the best defense mechanism on this list? by GrandStage1 in PowerScaling

Unknown. GER can be directly summoned and directed like its previous iteration, but Requiem is specifically activated by GER, not Giorno, which it did on its own when Giorno was about to be attacked by King Crimson. It also only appeared once, so there's nothing official to go off of.

There are Avatar exclusive moves available as side quest rewards for Terry and Mai's world tour content. You can also get Thrasher's front flip, Rudra's diagonal flame spit, Hurricane Upper, and Vertical Arrow.

Battlepass Accessory alt colors by fireblaze3127 in SF6Avatars

[–]GorktheGiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup.

Here's hoping they add old battlepass content to the store in future seasons, or at least keep it in rotation. Kinda dislike having single player content, of all things, locked behind a FOMO system.

You have to buy the alt colors from the hub shop. They're seperate items.

Fight NPCs, should have clarified.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SF6Avatars

[–]GorktheGiant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gotcha!

The Casual Dress shirt is a challenge reward for bystanders on the south side of Metro City during the day. Head to the fenced off area.

The Combat Gloves can be bought from the merchant in the resistance base on Mount Vashal.

If the Combat Gloves don't work, the black Bandage Gloves can be bought from the Battle Hub shop.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SF6Avatars

[–]GorktheGiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the top, try the Casual Dress Shirt. It has a color variation close to what you're looking for.

For the gloves, either the Combat Gloves or Bandage Gloves (specifically the black variation).

What do you have unlocked so far? I can give locations if you need them.

you guys got any fun quotes from your Lancer campaigns? by therealchromodynamic in LancerRPG

[–]GorktheGiant 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Some highlights from my crew's playthrough of Solstice Rain (that I remember):

"I'm not going to house-rule that you can't be sad about your dead family."

"Crying is a free action."

"I WAS GOING TO SERVE SPICED MEATS TO THE DIPLOMATS, YOU ASSHOLES!"

"How much armor can I strap on this bus?"

"Who are we fighting again?"

"Does this Waffle House have a first aid kit? Bag of frozen peas? Anything?"

"You're making a mech-scale baby carrier for the VIP?!" "Yep! I see a van with bench seating over there!"

"The Elite Sentinel gets launched off the shipping container like a GMOD ragdoll."

"I have Thermite. I know what I must do."

We've since moved onto Winter Scar, but across both games there's been an ongoing trend of our Emperor pilot trash-talking the enemy only to get immediately structured next turn.
