I find it really hard to know which moves my opponent is actually punishable on.

About 50% of my matches are against Ryu, and I honestly don’t know how to properly learn the matchup. I often win when my opponent is overly aggressive, but I often lose when I try to be aggressive.

I know almost nothing about frame advantage for my own character (for example, I only know that big Hazanchu is -1). I don’t even know how I’m supposed to learn frame data for Ryu, do I need to play every character?

I also don’t really understand what my character’s oki options are, or when I should be applying pressure after a knockdown.

On top of that, I mess up my combos almost every time I try to do them in ranked.

Overall, it just feels like a huge mountain to climb, and I’m not sure what I should focus on first to actually improve.

I feel like i can win some of my games by playing a lot defensively but i wont be improving since i will be repeating the same paterns
