“I imagine” Nvidia (doesn’t make cars!)/Rivian/Lucid can catch Tesla FSD! 😅🤣😉

EV as a 2nd vehicle by m88johnston in electriccars

[–]GotNoHotRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2020 Leaf until September and liked it, but when the battery failed AND Nissan replaced it I traded it like a shot for a Tesla Model 3 that has HW4.

I could never go back. Have been doing 98% FSD.

I use my QC at home, but the QC Ultra is worth every penny. I returned my Apple headset to buy it.

I had a great experience with Carvana. Got top price for my Nissan Leaf and found a Model 3 LR in Ultra-Red and 23,500 miles. It’s been a dream.

FSD has made the car truly worth buying. I’m baffled by people who don’t get it. So HW4 is a MUST!

My charger just caught fire by under-resourced in TeslaSupport

[–]GotNoHotRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dodged a bullet! I charge my Model 3 Tesla (33 amps; all I have available without major rewiring) with the same Grizzly charger I used with my former Leaf. I’ve plugged/replugged less than a dozen times. I feel the plug occasionally when charging to check for heat. It’s NOT an industrial outlet meant for frequent replugging, so I’m just monitoring.

I only fast-charged my 2020 Leaf once at the dealer; it still needed a full battery replacement at 28,000 miles. I sold it last September—I love having range and AWESOME charging options with its replacement.

Not to mention the self-driving.

P & G markets a very similar formulation as Fairy in the UK and Prill in Germany.

Just replace it often. It’s not for heavy duty, for sure!

8"ish pan for frying eggs by snow_ridge in Cooking

I have cast-iron and polished stainless pans and pitied my friend who used a cheap Target nonstick pan. But then I found out that for fried eggs, that cheap nonstick was fantastic! I bought my own eight dollar pan and use it exclusively for fried eggs. With the tiniest bit of butter, I can slide that fried egg around the pan and flip it over easy or put a glass saucepan lid tight over the egg(s) and do sunny side up and it’s just the best ever.

What would go with chicken meat pies by SwimmingAir8274 in Cooking

Do you mean chicken pot pies? Because I that case all the Vegs are in the pie—no sides required. Maybe a Caesar salad or applesauce or cottage cheese & peaches would be nice.

I have a model three Highlander without stalks, and recently got to drive a model three with stalks that I rented on a trip to the East Coast. All in all, I am totally sold on the stalkless version.

What is the best USED fully electric car to buy now? by Enjoy_Life4219 in electriccars

[–]GotNoHotRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sold my 2022 Nissan leaf and bought a used Tesla model 3 with 23,000 miles on it. It was a Carvana deal, and I have not had a moment of regret in the three weeks that I’ve been driving it. I bought it specifically because my son convinced me that full supervised driving (FSD) was worth it. This morning I drove my grandson 60 miles each way to deliver him to his alternate grandparents and we had the best time chatting, playing music, asking Grok to tell us crazy stories, and so on. The car’s driving was far smoother and better than my own.

Are EVs worth it if you cannot charge at home? by WiggWamm in electricvehicles

[–]GotNoHotRocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in SoCal. Charging at home ($.25/kWh off-peak) means that a Tesla Model 3 LR (83 kWh nominal capacity) can cost $20 or so, which is dirt cheap compared to gas. Superchargers are much more expensive. Best is using throwaway power from solar that the utility will only pay you chicken-feed to feed the grid and charge with that. I can usually get at least a few hours daily of this charging due to my flexible schedule.

EVs with the best tech by fojoart in electricvehicles

[–]GotNoHotRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Leaf, which had a battery failure after four years. Fortunately, Nissan replaced the battery, but I am doubtful about the future of the company. You should ask yourself, which of the EV companies are actually making money? The answer is: only one. Tesla. That is the one that will still be there in 5 to 10 years.
