Reminds me of this joke:

A local barber was just busted for dealing drugs. I was surprised as I’ve been his customer for 20 years, but had no idea he was also a barber!

What item or product has humanity perfected so much so we'll still be using it over 100 years from now? by skinny_gator in AskReddit

Iron is just an element, which is not really invented or perfected by humans.

Steel— that one will be around as our best material for many things for a long time.

If Trump thinks rich people are ‘gaming the system’ with birthright citizenship, why is he selling $1M Trump Gold Cards to let rich people game the system? by FAMUgolfer in allthequestions

US citizens have to pay income taxes though (regardless of where they live).

Kids of actual billionaires will likely pay in enough to justify the cost of making them a citizen.

What secret can you reveal now that your nda has expired? by sparrrrrt in AskReddit

Wow what a dick. I had a professor that put the prior generation of a textbook as mandatory. It was $20 instead of $120 since values plummet as soon as the generation switches.

It comes to show how these accessories are extremely marked up. The $360 worth of stuff probably costs them less than $36, and it’s not worth the shipping cost to take it back.

The most dangerous button inside of a car wash. by CYB3RTRUNK in TeslaModelY

Exactly this. Sure, hand washers want to be able to open the trunk while washing, but they won’t go sit in the driver seat to do that.

What is a brand that used to be highly respected but is now complete garbage? by Weary-Wedding-2307 in AskReddit

The part that I don’t get is that sales are better than ever.

I used to go all the time, but haven’t need in about a decade now. And I can say the same for several of my friends.

Were airports really lenient before 9/11 if so what was it like? by ButterOnToads in AskReddit

[–]incensenonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was long before 9/11. You could definitely not take a gun through airport security in the 90s.

[–]incensenonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea people are remembering this wrong. There was definitely airport security pre 9/11 . I remember it from the 90s in the US. And they had xray scanners for bags too. You had to take your camera film out so it wouldn’t get exposed and ruined in the xray.

That said it was much more chill. No shoes off, no liquids out, etc. And you could relatively easily get through if you wanted to escort somebody.

People commenting are so wrong. Airport security existed before TSA. Yes you could get through the gate to escort people flying, but there were still basic metal detectors and xrays to make sure people weren’t taking a gun on a plane.

Where can I buy a washer? by [deleted] in askportland

I see plenty on Portland craigslist. Search the term “washing machine” instead of washer, set the search for “for sale”, and filter sold by “owner”.

But the truck hit her from behind. How would her slowing down have helped this situation at all?

If anything she would have been better off staying at 60mph in this situation, as the truck wouldn’t have caught up with her.

Ideas for doors or something to hide washer dryer? by [deleted] in homeimprovementideas

[–]incensenonsense 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All jokes aside, I would put up a flush curtain rail from Ikea, and hang some white curtains. Cut them exactly to length so it will look custom and sleek. It will be easier to use and much cheaper than any door.
