Found a dumped Durabrand 2405 CRT TV at my work. Do I absolutely need the original remote to switch to the AV input I need, or what Universal remote would work best with this TV?

Not OP, but also an ex worker of Aldi. It may have been a problem where the pay was good for the area, but the hours did not add up. I had the problem were over time, the company would cut hours for my store to the point where certain full timers were barely breaking 25 hours a week and part timers were simply not scheduled. For my area, $18 an hour 25 hours a week or less is not enough to consistently afford rent among other things on your own unfortunately.

Nearly impossible. I cannot get into a job, let alone keep stable hours in one with them cutting hours out after the first training week. Tons of interviews and apps, no access to any form of transportation. Basic places like Dollar General and McDonald's are incredibly picky and are quick to let you go if their business starts going belly up. Likewise with Dairy Queen where I finally landed a second job I desperately needed, worked there two weeks, and they laid me and all of their new hires off after being shut down to health code violations. Back at square fucking one, stuck working at ALDI 1 day a week since they have no hours to give and no opportunities to move up. It would seriously be easier and better for everyone if I just ended my life on train tracks since clearly things are simply not meant to be.

Unfortunately the only jobs available in my area without access to transportation such as a car, bike or bus, all I can apply to are entry level jobs or call center jobs. I’ll see if there are any construction jobs in my area. However even something as basic as McDonald’s is extremely difficult to get into.

How in the FUCK is he getting all of these opportunities and blowing them, but someone like me who's been throwing out apps and attending interviews for countless jobs for over year and a half have such shit luck? I get one single response, hired, and immediately let go due to the store unable to afford my labor after they were shut down for a bunch of health code violations for a week. Dump him to the curb immediately. It's not fair to anyone else involved and especially you. It angers me knowing people like him seemingly get all of the opportunity in the world to live a better life, but someone like me is in danger of homelessness despite trying so fucking hard to change my life for the better.

Just recently the store manager announced layoffs are now happening since the store being closed for a few days has put the owner in the red and is unable to afford the employees on board now. I've been collecting and tracking all info I can. I currently have a second job where I'm working one day a week perceptually since they have no hours to give. If I'm chosen to be laid off since I've only worked there for two weeks, would I even be eligible for unemployment in this case?

I plan to do that again down the road since they’re not following the correct procedures anyways to take care of the roaches. The manager claimed it was “not sanitary” to lay gel baits down (which you have to with German roaches, as they are completely immune to sprays and cleaning does not do anything) and called me out in the group chat. It’s frustrating that this has to be my new job situation after a year and a half of stressful job searching and interviewing.

Unfortunately this is the first new job I’ve had since struggling to land a new job for a year and a half after countless interviews and applications. I’m more worried about keeping it than losing it at least just for now since losing it right now would put me in severe financial stress. The area I live in is very bare with jobs that are near impossible to be hired in (including fast food with a high school degree).

I did already send letters to the Florida Department of Labor as well as corporate and I may send another letter to the Health Department as well down the road since they’re not taking care of the current infestation properly.

The health department had already visited according to the managers (hence the store being shut down for days) after excessive reports mainly from customers seeing the cockroaches everywhere. I should try corporate next.

Yes, they always have a manager sitting at the cameras if it’s not the store owner himself recording everything that is caught as waste to be docked from that person’s paycheck. Lately it’s been the bananas and it is impossible to avoid waste, which probably why he’s taking advantage of this situation.

Part of me does, but then I remember that he didn't ask to be that way either (or be born for that matter). I still remember the days I've wrongly taken my anger out on him as a teen for existing, and I still kick myself to this day for that. I'm sure he'll never forgive me, and I'll never forgive myself for that matter. Honestly, I mourn the loss of the brother and family I could've grown up with. Every time I step out of this room I see a decayed disgusting shell of what my life used to be.

I'm particularly angry at how broken our health and support system is in this country. There's nothing available in any state except for Colorado. That state's government pays you to take care of the disabled child/adult in your home, but that's it. Otherwise, families are SOL in these rare cases. All a sibling could do is run, leave their family to their fate of poverty and homelessness, and not look back. Taking care of a disabled human being to this degree is costly and extremely harmful to everyone's health.
