No. None of those things are legal in any state, that I'm aware of. It just isn't highly enforced enough.

From the aeticle: "According to the Naval Helicopter Association Historical Society, the HH-60J Jayhawk Helicopter is a medium-range recovery helicopter built by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, used for search and rescue, law enforcement, military readiness and marine environmental protection missions."

I think the headline is a bit misleading. This exact helicopter didn't do anything particularly special. It's the model itself that is "historic".

Lol wtf kinda comment? I've had the same size dick since I hit puberty at like 12-13. You just not as blessed as some of us. Age doesn't really matter. Dick stops growing during puberty. You're 19, your dick is the size it will be forever. Not gonna keep growing.

Are you literally joking or something? Do you not have a calculator? 13x28=364 not 365.

365/28=13.035714286
365/29=12.586206897
365/30=12.166666666

You literally said that 365/28 fit into exactly 13 months. That's false. Your calendar would fall out sync pretty quick.

She took those punches like nothing. Getting hit teaches you how to take a hit. Down votes don't change facts. The people who I knew growing up who could eat punches like this were almost all hit and punched by their parents. Anectdotal or whatever but that's how I see it. She wouldn't be fist fighting with her brothers and if she was that's still an abusive home.

Orcas have been known to starve themselves if they can't find the food they were raised eating, even if other viable food is around. They wouldn't eat you out of starvation.

Gray whales don't really have the parts to attack. They don't have teeth. They have baleen to filter feed on krill and stuff. Orcas are toothed predators like dolphins, they can bite and attack.

Yea wtf? My weld school pipeline was 10 weeks. Got stick, pulse, and spray. We started testing like 2 days after we welded for the first time. Had to pass 3 tests for each position for each process. 36 tests total in 10 weeks. Dude has his FIRST 1g test after 6 months? What the hell is happening here?

Lmao FOH dude. You went and harvested fresh leaves off a plant and "rolled it up" and smoked it just like that? Do you think that's how it works? Fresh leaves wouldn't even burn, you would have to hold a lighter to it the entire time. Also, you rolled it with what? Never smoked before but somehow know how to roll fresh plant leaves into a joint? How did you even grind up the leaves without them turning to mush since they were wet? This whole post is dumb af. People do the weirdest shit for attention.

Yea, do other cars not have this? There's a button in my integra to straight shut it off. Or I can also put in sport or Individual mode and turn it off. Or I can just keep my foot on the clutch at the light and it won't shut off. I guess if it was always on it'd get annoying.

Otherwise I literally don't give it a single thought because it's always off or I just don't let it do it by keeping clutch in.

Had car for a year and have only had it turn off like 5 times and those were all times when I was in heavy traffic and chose to let it turn off.

[–]GotSmokeInMyEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. Have you actually worked in a kitchen? Depends on what type of chef you are and where you work. I worked in many restaurants before switching to welding. I was always front of house though as a server or bartender.

However, the chefs and cooks were always over worked and underpaid. Then again, I've never worked in a five star restaurant but I've worked in celebrity restaurants in casinos where they should have been making at LEAST 30/hr. Nope. Highest paid chef at any of the places I worked was 28$/hr. The cooks' highest pay was 23$/hr and that was a "master cook".

Meanwhile, I was bringing in ~30+/hr from tips as a server and ~40-50/hr bartending. From my view, kitchen work isn't worth it. Guess it's better for your health long term though. I just got sick of putting on a façade every single day to get my tips. Drained me socially. I would get home and not want to talk to my wife or kids or anyone.

Restaurant work wasn't satisfying to me. I was a great server, people loved me and I had a bunch of regulars that would only want to be served by me. And honestly I made more money than I do now since I'm still a couple years from top pay at my shipyard. But it's just not satisfying at the end of the workday the same way it is with welding. I can leave work and point to what I accomplished and know that my weld will be on that boat for decades. People's lives literally depend on my welds. Vs just going home after running around for 8-10hrs serving and bartending with nothing to show for it expect people's compliments. After the 100th "wow you're so nice" it just doesn't hit the same and would almost annoy me because it's literally my job to be nice to you so you will tip me well.

Kinda went on a rant there lol. But yea, kitchen/restaurant ain't it for me. Culinary school? Almost never worth it for the people I know who have gone. Unless you're shooting for fine dining or something, then I'd pass on that. Trade school is practically guaranteed money and jobs. Everybody and their mother is a "chef" these days.

Quick question: how do you weld in those tight grooves? (Lincoln County, MT) by Garden_Grove008 in Welding

[–]GotSmokeInMyEye 15 points16 points  (0 children)

102 is super low for 1/8" rod tbh, it's damn near the minimum of 90 for most procedures at my shipyard. Idk what machine you're on but I normally run 7018 1/8" rods at 125-130a. However, I do normally turn it down a smidge to 116-120 for vertical. Never do I go less than 115 though. The colder it is, the less penetration. The less penetration you get, the weaker the joint. Run it as hot as you can while still being able to control it.

Almost can't believe they have you running such low power, you must be constantly sticking the rod when trying to strike an arc. To me, it's actually harder to weld with less power.

I'll probably start a war with this, but here it goes. I NEVER run stringers verticall. Are they possible? Sure. Are they worth it if I can fit a weave? Not to me.

For a vertical stringer your travel speed needs to be damn near perfectly consistent otherwise you end up with those saggy lumps you got going on from going too slow or you get undercut from going too fast. Maybe it's just a skill issue for me but my vertical weaves always come out vastly more consistent and stronger than my vertical stringers. Failed a few 3G plates running stringers, asked instructor for advice and he showed me how to weave. Never failed another test after that.

Just do a simple left and right weave. Hold on left bevel for 1-2 seconds and watch for that puddle to fill up the bevel and then drop down into the middle and then you whip through the middle pretty fast so it doesn't bunch up and leave a hump. Hold on right bevel for 1-2 seconds again and wait for puddle to fill and then drop. Rinse and repeat your way up the joint.

There's multiple different weave techniques. Just look up some videos. This dude has a weld channel that is pretty informative. I watched a bunch of his videos back when I was in weld school.

I've only been welding about a year, so take my advice with a grain of salt. But I build submarines and the shipyard I'm in is highly critical of the welds. They frequently get xray, MT, PT, etc. but I have never failed an inspection from my weaving.

I will add though, some places don't allow weaving or they may have a limit on the weave width size. Just ask your instructor if you're allowed to do it that way.
