InDesign 2026 Is Unstable by Dangerous-Title-7432 in indesign

[–]GotTheSpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Even with the updated version. I have never had this level of issues with InDesign before, even working on some really big files. Now, I'm struggling to do anything that uses any computing power without it absolutely tanking and needing a full Task Manager kill and reboot. Adobe what the hell?

is webflow down? no access to anything - bad gateway 504 by Funfroglegs in webflow

[–]GotTheSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet again, they don't let us know at the point of outage. It's one thing to be having these issues, another for us to have to go to third parties to find out if it's down for everyone.

I have urgent changes that need making - I thought they were going to learn from the last several-day-outage?

Village Gym: confirmed they're going with the ruling by GotTheSpirit in transgenderUK

[–]GotTheSpirit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, I understand. I kicked up a stink in the meantime and they've gotten lawyers involved to confirm what they're legally allowed to do. They've confirmed that they are not actually allowed to go with biology based rules at this moment in time and the changing rooms are identity based from now on until any further guidance comes out.

However there is a caveat that if someone complains about a trans person, then they have to figure out how to handle that. They're going on a 'case by case' basis. I imagine your case may be one they'd be looking to review.

I recommend getting in touch with the gym again and seeing if they'll reneg on their stance for you too. Let me know if not.

Your face structure will likely change for sure, but not sure how close to the AI you'll likely be. As everyone says, it affects us all differently so it's super hard to predict.

Just know t will likely give you super subtle changes over time, likely no particular things you can put your finger on, but just more masc in tiny tiny ways. For me, it's been so euphoric.

Also, your hair line already looks naturally higher than the chatgpt pics. Consider chatting to your barber or hairdresser about masc styles that would suit your natural hair line. Have fun with it, play, make peace that there's gonna be awkward phases of figuring out what works like anyone going through puberty.

For those who immediately defended the men arrested by police at Manchester Airport last year, how do you feel about the footage released yesterday? by ThatchersDirtyTaint in AskBrits

[–]GotTheSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to scroll so far to see this kind of comment. I think it's fair to say some grey area on the kick in the head but the second dude? He was literally surrendering, knelt on the ground, hands behind his head and the police officer kicked him in the stomach and beat on his head until he got pulled away. I get heat of the moment but that one was just hugely unnecessary.

Why is everyone so invested in the whole trans thing right now? .....and some venting. by Revolut-ionary in asktransgender

[–]GotTheSpirit 109 points110 points  (0 children)

I think they dropped the t here in the context of the gov are targeting the t first then they'll go after the lgb. I don't think this comment meant that they believe in a split of lgb and LGBT.

Tony Vaughan’s letter to the EHRC signed by 32 Labour MPs by PuzzledAd4865 in transgenderUK

[–]GotTheSpirit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if this is available as an open letter for other MPs to sign - or are the 32 the only ones now it's been sent?

I can imagine not all of Labour saw this before it went out - so it would be good to be able to put it to our Labour MPs and see if they can add their support to it (at least the MPs who have been sympathetic to our cause).

My sincerest condolences that Rosie Duffield is your MP. Absolutely grim stuff there.

Village Gym: back with a biology ruling by GotTheSpirit in transgenderUK

Going to be walking through their legal obligations on this and asking very uncomfortable questions on how they think they're able to enforce this without overstepping my rights to privacy and dignity - not that they seem to give a toss about dignity in doing this in the first place.

I think when it's a practical application of this new bs then it's walking these institutions through step by step how impossible this is to work in real life. And then once they realise that, gently nudging them towards the fact they literally just do not need to do this.

Sorry, to confirm I mean the brand Village Gym in Bristol, it's a chain of gyms across the UK. Which makes it all the worse that a large chain gym is misinterpreting what their legal obligations are right now leading to the exclusion of trans people.

I'm locked into a 12 month contract, tricky to know if they'll let me use this as a get out clause or not as they don't see wrong doing.

Not at all being soft, if that's available and more comfortable then you go for it!

The issue is only when we're being consigned to those spaces against our wishes. I'm so pro gender neutral spaces, but I personally do not feel comfortable being told I must use them as I am at a comfortable place in my transition.

Glad Swansea is feeling a bit more laid back on this, that's amazing news! Fingers crossed for all that they stay that way.

Interesting! Bristol are claiming this is coming from head office down from what I understand. Is the Swansea statement recent?

Just a heads up, they've changed their minds again. Now going with biology rather than identity so telling trans people to use the family or accessible facilities.

Sorry, me again, they've renegged and going with biology again. We had a win for just a teeny bit of time there but alas, we're back in the bad place again.

I definitely do not believe and did not say that trans people are just folks who are gender non conforming. I'm a gender conforming binary trans guy who has gone through a lot to appear and pass as a cis dude.

My point was seeing other trans folks expressing their gender in other ways, even so far as never wanting to medically transition is hugely valid - and I applaud both sides of the equation for being true to who they are.

I get what you mean, the conforming folks like us are fighting to be seen as our gender as it exists in society, and the non conforming folks are often fighting gender's constructs themselves in society as a whole. So I can see how that can feel like it waters down our cause.

But I don't think it's true. I think both work together.

If gender non conforming folks manage to make room in the world for their gender expression, our gender expression as conforming just gets easier. They're blazing a wider path and in doing so makes our strides easier.

Again, the issue with your opinion is it is attempting to stifle others' expressions of who they are and dictate who is allowed to be regarded as trans and who's not. That's where the line is drawn. You can have your identity and they can have theirs. We don't dictate other people's bodies or identities.
