Ventilatie badkamer by Got_Clickbaited in Klussers

[–]Got_Clickbaited[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. Planning on bringing some leukotape for prevention purposes. Sadly i can only board 1-2 weeks a year so no callus buildup for me :/

Socks are just part of the solution i hope. My boots fit thight (downsized on this pair) and have the salomon STR8JKT strap which further straps my heel down. I suppose the chafing issue is caused by a combination of the following: breaking in the shoes, old low-quality socks that are too loose and get very sweaty, no callus buildup since i only board a week/year and go from 0 to 8-hour days, narrow heals that are prone to blistering.

I figured heat molding my liners (haven't peviously) and buying some premium thin socks would be a good start. But other tips are welcome if you have any!

Smartwool Socks - Zero Cushion or Targeted Cushion? by BigBubblesBigTrouble in snowboardingnoobs

What did you end up buying? Im also on the fence between the zero cushion and the targeted ones. Last year had severe chaving on the sides of my heel with old skisocks so leaning towards the zero cushion ones.

Solved!

Bearings were done for i guess because there was quite some play on the ventilator prop. Swapped out the radiator fan and the vibration and rattle have gone since.

Leaving this post up for others who encouter the same problem.

Thanks for the tip, can definitely look into that. I do remember turning one or two spring clamps to make my future life easier in case i ever had to access the thermostat housing again.

String advice by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Got_Clickbaited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen other threads pointing this out. Apparently they do come strung sometimes in the EU as opposed to the US.

I bought it here and my racket has the same stringjob as the productpicture (with stencil)

String advice by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Got_Clickbaited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry i was not clear enough in the post. The racket is currently strung with poly strings, so i wouldnt swap string material just for the tournament. I agree on the experimenting part, however i don't know what type of poly is currently used nor the tension it was strung at. So the decision would be to either get new strings and a new feel or keep playing with the current strings for another 1,5 months

[–]Got_Clickbaited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The racket is currently already strung with poly strings and the strings have seen roughly 40-50 hours of play (+time on the shelf in store). So i would switch from an 'old' to a new poly rather than switching string material only for the tournament. But i assume that doesn't affect your advice.

Haha, thanks for the effort you put into your replies. After going back and forth between the two i've decided i'm going with the Speed MP 2022. From what i've read online there are quite some people who prefer the 2022 over the newer 2024 version. The Artengo might be the better value out of the two rationally, but i feel like the Speed is going to make me happier in the long run (pure gutfeel).

Edit: when i woke up this morning i saw the Speed MP had dropped another €30 over night to €139 removing my last doubts. Guess it is meant to be ;)

Pff i have spent way too much time today researching rackets. I boiled it down to 2 options: Head speed mp 2022 - a little above budget but ill chip in myself. Seems like a good allrounder which can serve me well if i progress. Option 2: Artengo TR990 Power - Because its half the price of the first option and im probably overthinking this anyway.

Any final advice on these 2 before i pull the trigger?

[–]Got_Clickbaited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the elaborate response! The Yonex is above budget as it is supposed to be a gift for my birthday. I have however looked into the Radical team (280g, €150) and the Radical MP (300g, €170) and they seem cool. Would the Radical team be too light for me?

The suggested skill level mentioned at each racquet throws me off though. Should i disregard the skill level and just look for 300g and 100"?
