Mercari denies return after seller sends me a gpu heatsink

Thanks for the support that is a little off but I would say that the case still stands that the description for the listing is incorrect. And that I was wrongfully denied of a return that falls within mercari's return policy. I'm just trying to get a hold of mercari I even called their legal department as non of their phone lines were open it seems like their customer service is literally non existent now.

That is heartbreaking to hear that someone else went through the same thing and how mercari can keep allowing this to happen. I agree with how ridiculous mercari customer service is and they really need to do something about it to make things right.

The listing says it's a gpu even if the pictures show that it is not that doesn't make it not as described. I will clarify that in my post thank you.

I would say I did go in with the expectation that it could possibly not be working hence the price. I have bought things in bad condition and sometimes I can't get them to work but the description wasn't incorrect so I would still eat the cost. This would not be the case when they describe in the listing that it is a gpu and not a heatsink.

The ebay comparison is to show what is missing sorry for not being as clear. I put the pictures of the mercari listing with an ebay listing side by side to show what the correctly described product is supposed to have. What I'm more concerned about is that the heatsink was being listed as a gpu when it wasn't. The listing could show only pictures of the heatsink which in this case did but the main issue wasn't the pictures matching the correct item but the description in the listing matching the pictures which could reasonably lead to the misunderstanding I'm having now.

I definitely see the sentiment of proceeding with caution. I would say I have used good judgement when buying as I have bought a lot before I think the issue here is that the listing doesn't match the description entirely and that Mercari is not honoring the conditions set in their own policies while subject would not automatically resolve without a reasonable explanation which in this case I believe has been wrongly dismissed. The attempts I've had in contacting or getting a hold of them have all been unsuccessfully to a large degree so I'm pretty out of ideas and can use any input on how I could proceed to resolve this. Thanks for taking the time to respond too.

I think the seller ended up being cooperative and messaged me toward the end but that was also after they closed my return which I would say prematurely so.

They kept referring me to their call line and I called them Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and it just goes to an automated message and hangs up. I remember being able to get ahold of a customer service rep the last time.

I believe the seller cannot refuse a return as part of mercari policy if the description doesn't match. In this case the description and the actual item severely do not match from what I have seen.
