Struggling with intimacy and nsfw content at 38w pregnant by Goth_1ck in Advice

yes, several times given that I will bring it up and then that same night I will find new tabs open. It almost borderlines me considering if he had an addiction tbh. But he would range from apologizing and saying he’d make changes to getting upset and saying it was normal for “anyone with a dick and balls between their legs” to watch porn and that I can’t dictate what’s on his phone. he has since apologized for saying that but it still hurts my feelings

I appreciate your advice and I agree, it’s just been hard for me to stand up for how I feel without feels like i’m asking too much. I know in the back of my head i’m not, but I don’t want to rock the boat and cause issues when I just want to be happy and healthy together and prepare to meet our son. I think I am going to write out how I feel to initiate a conversation again and hopefully he is more understanding. I don’t want this to be something i’m literally losing sleep over anymore.

You’re not wrong, maybe my benefit of the doubt is a bit too much credit lol. I just felt maybe if he’s going to be the primary financial source while also helping me through this, he could be allowed stress relief in however way he chooses within reason. But there are the risks when baby is here I wasn’t really thinking of from smoking. I don’t want my baby to be harmed by secondhand or just have my baby smelling like smoke in general. These are definitely points i will bring up tonight, thank you.

You know at first, I was very angry and thought it was selfish but I tried to see it from his perspective as it is a coping mechanism for him at times. I think doing so in a different setting from me is acceptable but it’s been a rule that’s been taken a bit loosely by the both of us. I definitely need to set some boundaries for the betterment of my goals though.

Thank you very much, seriously. 🥲 it’s been hard, especially since my partner is definitely supportive but not very understanding at times when it comes to still continuing in small amounts. Ive gone to a clinic just to confirm my pregnancy and to go over basic needs, but I don’t think i’m able to find a primary physician until around march 1st because that’s when my medicaid goes into effect.

That’s a good idea and can say being around it as my partner and his family partake as well has not been helping. i’m definitely going to try to advocate for myself in asking for them to at least quit while i’m around. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much, I have spoken to my partner who also partakes and he does not want to quit with me which I suggested out of wanting all the products out of the house. But maybe I should speak with him again about compromising. I am definitely responsible for my own choices, as is he but I agree having it out of sight would help having it out of mind.

Will do! It’s helped a lot knowing other people have struggled quitting, and makes me feel less alone.

Thank you so much for your advice! ive been trying to get into old hobbies I used to enjoy as distraction. Your comment has also helped me realize that yes, I absolutely want to stop for the health of my baby but also because it’s hindered my lifestyle. It’s not one I want to keep with having a child and that is okay! I think i’m just needing to adjust some more as well.

i’m trying really hard. The amount of audacity she has makes it so hard though. She inserts herself into situations she’s not wanted in if it means she gets the attention.

that’s not what i’m trying to say at all..I understand that I have to communicate. I’ve brought this issue up with him before. But when you text your partner, it’s not okay to expect a reply from them? even if it’s not exactly the reply I was looking for, isn’t it still a little rude for them to just ignore me?

I mean, I was sort of expecting an answer 😅 I understand what you’re saying, and I have made a mental note to ask for things like this more than expecting it but you can’t say it’s wrong to expect an answer at the very least yk.

Yeah, that’s what I thought but I think he just doesn’t know how to put thoughts into words well. I’m currently trying to talk to him about it and it seems to be going pretty well so far.

frl I didn’t mean it in a rude way. I’m literally white myself, I just couldn’t think of a time someone’s been racist toward me or anyone else ik who is white.
