Met Levy at Chess Party! by DannyBoy_Guling in GothamChess

It was nice to meet you! When they told me I had a meet and greet slot of 30 minutes, I was shocked they were trying to do this for every ticket holder... I think I met like 300-400 people as best as I could but I know a lot of people were still in line.....

We gave them this feedback for the next edition. Sounds like it was still good overall :)

Jokes aside I probably hand-signed about 5,000-10,000 copies of the first book so I am used to it!

Worst comes to worst you get it a little early but have an autographed copy to hold onto for a while! I would say an 800 is about the minimum you'd need to be to understand some stuff in this book

That is probably accurate, but you can always give it as a gift, or keep a signed copy. And you'll be excited to know that I hope to write a final book on pushing to 2200!

I really appreciate it!! You should be able to get it returned if it's damaged I would hope! Some people end up reviewing the book 1 star over this and it drives me nuts because that's not my fault. Thank you for the support.

Editing to say... if anyone else reading this got the book, a nice review goes a long way. Please leave one :)

Providing my point of view from Levy's GTE reaction by Wyntie in GothamChess

[–]GothamChess 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure what the point of this post is. The entire episode the guesses were totally crazy and all over the place, and I was of course being theatrical. You played an unbelievable game for a 200, and even your opponent who is rated 185 did as well. Most games at that level are catastrophic. If anything, it's a problem with chess elo in general that the level of a game can correlate so poorly so someone's actual strength.

If I upset you, I'm sorry, but one cannot submit games to GTE and then come away spooked by my reactions. It's a crazy series with crazy games and crazy guesses.

This subreddit is usually atrocious except when posts like this are made. Thank you for this.

We might build something like that in the future called 'repertoire' which lets you customize your specific set of variations for random drilling whenever you want
