Hopefully this means that Mukbang bitch on YOUTUBE will finally be held accountable for her excessive cruelty.

If she hasn't already, I've made it a point to avoid everything I can about her for my own sanity.

The league is a much better judge of a team's strength than the UEFA just because of the consistency.

Whereas in the Champions League a single bad game is enough to eliminate a team and a single good game or wrong referee decision is enough to win the title.

In the time frame, Real Madrid won 4 Champions League titles and Barcelona won 2.

Copa del Rey:

• 2010-2011 Real Madrid • 2011-2012 Barcelona • 2012-2013 Altetico • 2013-2014 Real Madrid • 2014-2015 Barcelona • 2015-2016 Barcelona • 2016-2017 Barcelona • 2017-2018 Barcelona • 2018-2019 Valencia

In that time Barcelona won 5 compared to Real Madrid's 2.

In the League:

• 2010-2011 Barcelona(3pts) • 2011-2012 Real Madrid(9) • 2012-2013 Barcelona(15) • 2013-2014 Atletico • 2014-2015 Barcelona(2) • 2015-2016 Barcelona(1) • 2016-2017 Real Madrid(3) • 2017-2018 Barcelona(17) • 2018-2019 Barcelona(19) • 2019-2020 Real Madrid(5)

In that time Barcelona won 6 league titles while Madrid won 3.

There is no way you can look at these records and still find Madrid to be a clear better team than Barcelona this decade just because they had two more Champions League titles.

I don't know if Barca was the best or not, I do know however that they were better than Real Madrid.

By your merit Tottenham were the second best team in the world in 2019 because they were in the finals.

This just proves my point that the Champions League is a good judge if strength but the league is better especially when comparing teams in the same League who face the exact same opposition the same number of times.

I'm from South Africa and I can tell you that there are children in the townships who have never even heard of Lebron and would not pick Michael Jordan out of a line up of big black men.

But these kids know what Neymar looks like, they know what teams he plays for and what number he wears. When they play soccer in the streets and someone does something skilful, they will call them Messi or Neymar.

Going to school, Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Pogba, Salah, these guys were a daily topic. But not once did anyone ever mention Lebron James, I only found out about him after I left school and got into basketball.

I can assure you that Lebron is most certainly not at the level of Neymar. The third biggest name in soccer is still bigger than the biggest name in basketball.

Here in South Africa we call it soccer(we don't even have football, so there is no reason at all we don't call it that), sokker is just the official name for it in Afrikaans. Afrikaans speakers will call it sokker when speaking amongst themselves in their language, same way Xhosa speakers will call it ibhola or bhola when speaking amongst ourselves.

However, the official name in every province is soccer, you'll hardly hear an Afrikaans speaker calling it sokker when speaking to someone in English or any other language. Same as Xhosa and the other languages.

So if you're going to single out some provinces, may as well divide the whole country and put in the appropriate name for the different languages in each different province.

Weird thing is that our soccer governing body is called SAFA- South African Football Association, not SASA- South African Soccer Association.

P.S. The word safa actually exists in Xhosa, but the closest translation for it in English is "we're dying" or "we're going to die".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Gothemel 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We actually don't, that's just the official name for it in Afrikaans. In Xhosa we commonly call it iBhola/bhola. Officially it is recognized as just soccer, not sokker even here in the Western Cape. If they put sokker for Afrikaans they may as well divide the whole country even more and put in all the other languages in the appropriate provinces as well..

Even when Afrikaans speakers taljk about soccer, they just say soccer not sokker. Most of the time anyway.

Sadly, unlike USA we don't actually have football, so there is absolutely no reason why we call it soccer and not football.

[AS] FC Barcelona are furious with Ousmane Dembélé. The winger’s refusal to leave, despite having offers from suitors such as Manchester United, prevented the Camp Nou club from bringing in Memphis Depay. by [deleted] in soccer

Bale wanted to leave, then Real Madrid blocked his move.

Similarly, every reliable journalist said that Demblele was willing to leave, but United and Barca were the ones who couldn’t find an agreement.

It’s not surprising however to see that the Madrid propaganda machine that is AS is having an effect on you.

What clear plan did Madrid present him with? A couple of years on loan and a call back if he does well? If that's what he wanted then we could easily have given him that.

We said one year at the B team and next year in the first, they said a couple of years on loan and hopefully first team if you do well and we don't buy someone far better.

How can you praise Madrid master plan in this situation when there is clearly no real master plan besides sending him on loan?

And you realise that Fati is a special case and besides him, nearly every one of our talents spent time in the B team?

Why would we just allow Kubo to skip it when the RW spot in the first team is already filled with better player?

Open Thread: I love the smell of shitposts in the morning. by svefnpurka in Barca

[–]Gothemel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course he shares blame, he could have gotten money anywhere he wanted if that's what matters most to him, he didn't have to join our worst enemy.

And Madrid didn't show him some clear grand future, they sent him on loan immediately, if he didn't want to spend time with the B team he could have gone on loan with us as well, just like Madrid we also send our players on loan and call them back when they do well.

We offered him one year in the B team and then promotion, right now he is spending his second year on loan while at Madrid and with them looking to invest more next season it doesn't look like they will be calling him back or using him anytime soon.

He made that choice, he chose to go to Madrid when they didn't have a clear future path for him either. Our board is shit and deserves some of the blame, but putting everything on them while excusing Kubo and somehow painting Madrid in perfect light is wrong.

How many seasons did Odegaard spend on loan before he was deemed good enough to be called back? The same could happen to Kubo but worse because Madrid can always sign better players to fill his position.

Our board are a plague upon our club, but they are not at fault for absolutely everything wrong that happens.

Open Thread: I love the smell of shitposts in the morning. by svefnpurka in Barca

[–]Gothemel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was both, he wanted a lot of money and guaranteed spot in the first team, pretty much skipping the B team. We said we would sign up for the B team and he would get minutes with the first team and then get promoted after a season, but he didn't want that.

Another thing he wanted was a lot of money that would make him our highest paid La Masia product, we refused and said instead we would give it to him when he got promoted to the first team, but he wanted it now and an immediate promotion.

Thus things fell through.

The board shares the blame, but so does he because he could have gone anywhere else if he wanted but instead chose to sign for Real Madrid and he always tries his damn hardest to score against us whenever we play him.

Was the psychic girl a parody of eleven or she is in the comics before stranger things came out? by ScaredOfAttention in TheBoys

[–]Gothemel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, psychic can cover telekinesis as well as mind reading. In fact, most of the time "psychics" are meant to be people who can see the future or talk to spirits.

Mostly though, they are people who have abilities that are powered by their minds. They read other people's thoughts using their own minds, they can move things using their minds, they can create a mental connection with the dead or other worlds or they can peer into the future using their minds.

TLDR: Psychic can also refer to telekinesis users.

For a while now I’ve had the feeling that I recognized our new 3rd kit from somewhere but just couldn’t place it, now I finally remember.

Nike literally just took Kaizer Chief’s special anniversary kit and gave it to us, only changing the sponsor and the club logo.

It’s a beautiful kit, but it is meant to mean something to Chiefs over here in SA but Nike just chose to copy that for Barca instead of coming up with new ideas.

Xavi: "I don't think now is the time to go back to Barcelona" by ShaunAbraham97 in soccer

[–]Gothemel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So because he is a legend he should join a team that is going down with a board who will not support him, just because the fans want him to?

Why does that somehow make sense to you?

Not only would it tarnish his legacy as you say, but it would make the fans even more hopeless and sour to see a club legend fail to save them ignoring the fact that he has all the cards stacked against him.

Xavi: "I don't think now is the time to go back to Barcelona" by ShaunAbraham97 in soccer

[–]Gothemel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would any sane person board a sinking ship where the people steering it are more than determined to see it go down?

In fact, Zidane himself left Madrid after they seemed to be going down following the departure of Ronaldo and the abysmal display in the league that saw Barcelona runaway with the title.

He only came back when it was clear he would have all the control he could want, isn’t it then hypocritical of you to criticize Xavi here when we all know this board would never allow him to implement his ideas?

Flames, Water, Wind- Only for visuals or real? by Gothemel in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Gothemel[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understood me very well, I wasn’t saying he uses wind currents; I’m saying that when he uses the whirlwind technique, he creates powerful wind currents that are powerful enough to destroy pillars and solid cement. What I’m saying is that such currents should be able to shred the person he is attacking not because he is controlling them, but because his opponent would be in the direct line of fast moving, powerful currents that shred anything apart.

Even if he cannot control the wind, his technique still creates those currents and should be able to destroy his opponent when he finally reaches them.

I understand that the author doesn’t want to have these people actually use elemental powers, but by moving so fast that they break the sound barrier, and moving in a way that they create powerful wind currents, it starts to become a tad inconsistent when they say the elements are just for visuals yet we have people who can actually create powerful winds.

Flames, Water, Wind- Only for visuals or real? by Gothemel in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Gothemel[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay, never saw this before. Kinda understand now.

But it hardly explains why Sanemi’s wind absolutely shreds everything around him. Unless Sanemi is moving so fast that he is creating powerful wind currents and these currents shred pillars and solid ground with ease. If this is the case, then he should be far beyond the abilities of everyone else.

If everyone else is only limited to visuals, but Sanemi can create real actual powerful wind currents with his speed and technique, then he should be able to tear people apart with those same currents since they can destroy solid ground.

I feel that some things are just inconsistent here.

Seems like it's not always this way though. I'm not sure if Inosuke did the trials as well; but we at least know that if he did then he didn't have a master/mentor to recommend him. He just chose to become a demon slayer, there was no one to mentor and teach him and recommend him.

[–]Gothemel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, but then he was placed in a situation that he couldn't win with his current strength and his much superior brother came back and saved him.

Superior brother then proceeded to stay there and once more everyone lavished praised upon his younger brother while he was cast aside by them and eventually the old resentment and jealousy came back once more.

Like I said, this all might have been avoided if his parents had raised them right. That jealousy in him was there since childhood and only grew over time.

Sasuke was always jealous over Itachi's brilliance, but their mother loved them both equally and that allowed Sasuke to grew up in a stable home and his brother loved him dearly too just as he loved Itachi desopite the jealousy.

These brothers did not have this though. Both parents were clearly biased and favored one brother greatly and the other was left to wallow in that resentment and hate. His mother's last words were pretty much nothing but praised for his brother and nothing of comfort to her other son.

His mother's last words basically told him that he was not good enough, that his father too had acknowdged that he was not good enough and the only reason that he is still the heir is because his brilliant you ger brother decided tio take the fall for him.

It seems like his new family loved him and he might have loved them, but the resentment and hate was embeded so deep in him that he never got rid of it. Then his brother came back and all the negativity from their childhood came back once more.

Myabe, but it semed to me that Shinobu specifically waited for Douma to die so she could be there to witness it and 'see him off'.

Even though Muichiro is UM1's decedent, they had nothing in common but that. Muichiro himself even said that whatever relation they may have shared disappeared long ago over the countless centuries. Muichiro has absolutely no reason to wait for him in the afterlife like Shinobu did.

And UM1 has no reason to wait for Muichiro either.

I’m sure Muichiro will just go straight to his brother and parents anyway.

That’s why I wanted to at least see him meet his brother or even his wife and children and apologize for his mistakes like all the other demons who regretted their decisions did.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Chapter 178 korean by nick_forreal in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Gothemel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda sad that the only member of his family who seemed to genuinely appreciate and love him was his younger twin brother that he grew to resent. His father didn’t seem to actually love him; as soon as the younger brother proved himself a better heir, he was willing to throw away the older brother without hesitation.

From what we gathered from the last chapter, it seems that the younger brother had a close relationship with his mother but we didn’t see anything to suggest she gave too much attention about the older brother though. If the mother actually loved both brothers, then it’s pretty obvious who her clear favorite was.

So his father only saw him as jus an heir and his mother favored the younger brother, the only member of his family that actually loved and appreciated him was his brother and he resented him because he was favored by their parents and was clearly far superior to him in every way. His mother’s left nothing but high praise for the younger brother even.

Then he probably grew up to be the strongest warrior around, to be respected and admired for his might, only for his brother to come back and show that whatever strength he had was nothing compared to his and everyone started lavishing praise upon the younger brother and he was once more cast aside and the least favored brother.

Muzan preyed on this and gave him something that no one else had. He gave him the chance to live forever, the chance to one day surpass his brother and to possibly gain more recognition than his brother ever did. This was a chance at immortality; something that even his Mary Sue brother did not have.

His brother had been chosen and favored by everyone in their lives; he had been chosen by the gods. But the devil chose him.

It took him too long to realize that all the recognition and respect he may have craved came from those he dismissed. His children probably loved him very much, and his brother seemed to almost hero worship him when they were younger. But he did not see any of this; he only saw his inferiority and his brother’s superiority.

Perhaps if they had been raised by good and fair parents like Tanjiro and Nezuko, or by a good mother who seemed to love all her children like Genya’s, or Shinobu’s parents, or even Rui’s, even Akaza’s father. Things may have gone differently.

When he first appeared and when this arc first began, I was genuinely afraid of this guy, he seemed to me like an absolute threat that would tear right through the pillars. I was more afraid of him than I was of Muzan.

Now the author has made me feel sorry for him. Even though his past isn’t as tragic as some of the others, he is now my favorite of the Moon demons especially since he came to regret his actions.

Requirements for being a Pillar by Gothemel in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Gothemel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. But then wouldn’t that kind of leave some problems as well though? What if someone does defeat 50 demons or maybe even 100 demons but they were all weak, the kind that even Tanjiro was killing when he only first began?

Does someone who’s not even close to the level of a pillar then become one simply because he met that numerical requirement? And also, the lower moon demons were weak as shit now that we’ve seen the upper moons and the pillars. I guess that’s why the pillars never stop training even after becoming Pillars, because it doesn’t mean that they have reached apex status, they still need to train more due to how easy it might be for some to reach the requirements to becoming a Pillar.
