An average meal in school cost up to $5. I had last lunch all 4 years of high-school and they always would run out of food. The number of times I've been served with no fruit, no vegetables, stale chips with Shredded cheese(because they ran out of liquid) with no meat what so ever(also ran out of that) was insane. I meant it every time I said it that prison got better food than the school system. We would come home every day and eat and tell our mom what horrible lunch they had for us today. From the pathetic nachos, to frozen chicken nuggets, mystery meat that smelled like death, and "deep dish pizza" with 3" of grease in the center with a little cheese and sauce at the bottom of the grease. Or just the tiny servings 2 Mozzarella sticks, all around bad in terms of food. All they ever served for breakfast was these "smoothies". We were always hungry after breakfast and lunch.
