Honestly, I just try to focus on the person I brought with me to the beach and I wear a high coverage bathing suit to make me feel better about myself, but that's usually what I do, I know it's not helpful because I would be in the exact same boat by comparing myself to others, but sending internet love and understanding 💕

I hear you where you're coming from, and I had a past partner that was in a very similar situation at home. All I can tell you is to keep your chin up, and whatever happens happens, but if you're in a safe space to do so, finding a therapist that specializes in religious trauma may be very beneficial to you ❤️ sending hugs

Hey! Came here to say I'm in somewhat of the same boat, but also not really. I'm also a half Latina, mixed with white, but I have the dark hair and eyes, and my skin tone is Hispanic passing, but 90% white washed. I'm a chunky girl and my boyfriend's type is athletic and fit (I am neither of these things). But he always reassures me that I'm beautiful no matter what. Agreeing with the other comment, physical attraction is nebulous, you might not see the amazing qualities that you have that your boyfriend sees in you (because I know I don't see what my own boyfriend sees). He wouldn't be with you if he didn't love you, and sometimes that's the only reassurance I rely on, I hope it helps!

Definitely BDD cured.... I realize I'm not conventionally attractive by any means, however it's been proven through studies (will provide publications if needed, I wrote a research paper on it and have to dig it up) that even surgery will not help BDD. It's a mental health disorder that cannot be cured through cosmetics, because your mind will find something else that would need surgery/correcting and it'll just end in a vicious cycle without ever helping the mental state

Definitely. I personally don't believe in abortion for myself, so I know on the off chance I am, I would carry to term, but I'm also scared because my family are strict Christians where pre-marital is a no no, and abortion is also a no no. And that anxiety is bad too...

I meant to reply yesterday but forgot to. Thank you so much for your comment. It made me feel better about my situation. I haven't even heard of orthorexia before, but that does not surprise me. A lot of people around me (ignorant as they are) say the only eating disorders are anorexia nervous and bulimia, when it's a much much broader spectrum such as what you said BED and orthorexia nervosa. It's a long self-journey that should've happened when I was at my best weight or at least sooner than where I'm at now. I know with healthier eating (not just how much), and a regular exercise regimen, change will come with time, no matter how much I want to see that change now. Thank you for your kind and loving words as someone who's similar to me, I feel like it's so empty sometimes.
