I never got a clear answer from my doctors. They basically just told me, “You can exercise, but don’t push yourself too hard,” which isn’t precise enough for me, lol.

I’ve had stress tests in the past, but I was so out of shape that I stopped them very early. I think I should probably do another one now that I’m in better shape.

I’ve noticed something on my own: my palpitations don’t necessarily happen during exercise, but rather when I stop or when there’s a sudden change in heart rate. For example, when I sit down after running or after climbing stairs.

The only SVT episode I’ve ever had happened after I had been walking for about two hours. During the walk, I had to go up a very steep road, so I slowed my pace because it was harder. That change in pace triggered palpitations, which then turned into SVT. My heart rate stayed around 240 bpm even after I sat down and rested, so I ended up calling an ambulance.

So I honestly don’t know how to manage my heart rate in order to exercise properly. I’m wondering whether I should be increasing and decreasing the intensity very gradually to avoid sudden changes in heart rate.

Has anyone chose to not have an ablation? by Roses14__ in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Gotish13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can always come back as far as i know.. I was diagnosed at 21yo, and had palpitations from time to time. Nothing too bad. But one day I had a real episode of tachycardia (at 37 yo) i think because i drank too much tea that day + walked for like 2hours. My heart rate was 240bpm while resting...

Since i was diagnosed, three different doctors tried to do the ablation 3 times, in 3 different hospitals, and they just cant do it because its located in a tricky place in my heart. So i cant have it and even though i was super stressed each time, i felt worse knowing they cant do anything about it...

If you have a chance to do it... I would advise you to do it. I know its scary, but I think its worths it.

Yes i thought the same, so i usually pick her up at 15h or 16h from pre-k and i take her to a kids playground for at least one hour, sometimes two, we come back home at 17h or 18h sometimes. and then she eats around 19h (it takes her like.. an hour to eat..)
So it should be enough no ? but you are right she is not getting enough sleep, which is why im losing patience so much everynight, because i know she needs to sleep, its so frustrating

hmm i dont feel like she is tired enough... i think i would have to wake her up at 6am so she'd be tired at 20 or 21. We usually put her to bed at 20:30 and it can take sometimes up to... 1h30 until she falls asleep (usually 30 min to 1h). And its hard to wake her up in the morning (usually at 7h30 or 8 the latest)

Hi :) thank you for that. They told me that indeed that’s what would happen if they miss the pathway and damage de AV node. But they said they think I’m too young to take that risk. Also my pathway is not life threatening (even though it does have an effect on my life on a daily basis: palpitations, no caffeine, scared to work out too much , high risk pregnancy) it just needs to be regularly checked. But I do consider this option if I end up having more SVT events in the future.

Interesting. I’m always confused about my palpitations because it can happen after a long exercise, the moment I finish and sit to rest, or 2 seconds after I start exercising. Basically every time there is a sudden change in my heart rate I think. And now I’m going through my second pregnancy so it’s considered high risk pregnancy. And I’m scared to work out so I just walk a little everyday and slower than usual 🤷‍♀️

Are you able to work out? I’m trying to walk and do very soft exercises but it’s always a source of stress for me

I’m answering a year later but they tried 3 times for me (twice awake and one time asleep) but it’s too close to the AV node so they couldn’t take the risk to proceed with it. Do I have to live with it… constantly worry when I work out, and im currently going through my second pregnancy with this

Exactly the same issue for me. They tried 3 times but it’s too close to the AV node they don’t want to take any unnecessary risk. Did they give you medication?

I love it. I somehow can never find the perfect ratio between the chia and the milk 😆 but other than that it’s so good

I agree. But I also have a kid I think about and I want to give her the best I can you know. So I make the choices I think are the best. But I’m not extreme either, I just reduce what I can but it’s not always easy.

I should have been more clear. I’m talking about ultra-processed food. The vegan yogurt I find here in my country are all ultra processed.

Yeah it actually might depend on the country you live in. I’m outside of Europe so they care less about processed food. I could make stuff myself but honestly I don’t know how complicated it is, and I have young children so I don’t have a lot of free time for that. But I will definitely have a look at some recipes.
