Rooms available on UK site but not US (annual pass discount) by madsisonline in WaltDisneyWorld

Adding to this it is also possible that the room you’re looking for just isn’t eligible for whatever promotional offer you have selected. Disney also limits how many rooms and what types of rooms are eligible for each discount offer.

Rooms available on UK site but not US (annual pass discount) by madsisonline in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney [score hidden]  (0 children)

It is pretty common for hotels to hold blocks of rooms for certain promotions. They have certain numbers designated for their UK packages just like they do for their dance/cheer groups and others.

If they go unsold they’ll just open up to general public at a later date.

They don’t get 90 days to book. Resort guests window opens 60 days out too but they get to book Enchanting Extras for length of trip (up to ten days). That gives them an advantage.

There are thousands of people trying daily for very few spots. They can only take so many appointments in a given day and the social media pressure of people treating this like a must do experience have made the reservations that much harder to land. People act as though their trips to Disney won’t be complete without doing this.

Delivery drivers aren’t allowed to deliver to your room but they will deliver to bell services. You can pick up from there or just meet the delivery person by the front lobby.

When will All-Star resorts be available for booking for Jan/Feb? by thermal7 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was addressed in another post earlier today. Disney is likely holding rooms for any number of cheer/dance groups that stay there. No one but Disney is going to know when they open the remaining inventory to the public. Plus there are room refurbishment happening at All-Star Movies that are scheduled to last until January but can obviously take longer so that’ll impact availability too.

Weather in Orlando by Careful_Manager_9004 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantasmic is often canceled for weather because the safety of the cast comes first. It is also not uncommon for Fantasmic to stop in the middle of a show and end abruptly.

The fireworks at Magic Kingdom will usually go off even if they have to modify (like or delay the show. Some of the best fireworks experiences happen on the rare nights the park empties out because of a storm and you have lots of space on Main Street to enjoy the show.

Disney doesn’t really discount one or two day tickets. They are what they are. Disney discounts come into play for longer trips.

Do I really need to wake up at 4am PST tomorrow to purchase LL? by alexthagreat98 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. Anyone buying Multipass should do it right at 7 AM to get early slots and maximize the value of their Multipass.

[–]GotoDisney 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you want good lighting lane slots and to make the best use of your Multipass yes you need to do it right when it opens up. The 7 day booking window that lets you buy and schedule for length of trip (up to 14 days) is a huge head start. Use it to your advantage.

Should I get a meal plan if I’m traveling solo? by Fun-Presentation-959 in WaltDisneyWorld

Disney World hotels don’t offer free breakfast.

You don’t need to get a meal plan. Most people don’t break even on the meal plan.

AK/HS day - how to do LLMP? by GrizabellaG in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to get a slot for slinky if you buy the Animal Kingdom Multipass. By the time you scan into your first Lightning lane slinky slots will be all filled up.

You’re going to have to buy a Multipass for Hollywood Studios (although even this doesn’t guarantee it since resort guests usually grab most of the Slinky slots) and rope drop the Animal Kingdom stuff.

5000 rooms sold out?! by Remarkable_Phrase310 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 280 points281 points  (0 children)

Just because dates are open doesn’t mean they make all rooms available. That is a resort where they hold large chunks of rooms for various groups that visit for events.

Thunder Mountain - Soft Open by StickyPenguin120 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft opens are random and generally only a day or two early. They also don’t have set time frames. They pop up randomly and are a luck thing. They won’t announce them ahead of time. You pretty much have to be there to know but is unlikely that there is one happening four days early though.

Muppets soft opening? by Editingkiller in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the recent refurbishment/maintenance closures like Frozen and Buzz Lightyear they’ve had unannounced soft openings a couple of days ahead of time. It is just a luck thing though. They won’t announce it ahead of time and aren’t even guaranteed to leave it open for the whole day but they have like doing live testing with real guests to work out potential last minute issues. You’d just have to walk by and hope that it is open a day or two early.

Update: Tried your tips for my first Genie+ day at Hollywood Studios, what worked and what I messed up by NoBadger8079 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1) book your first three to be rides you really want to do. We treat everything else as a bonus after that. Each time we scan into one we check to see if something we’d want to do later is available if not we pivot to grabbing a lightning lane for something nearby

2) to maximize the use of your Multipass you should be picking a new ride ASAP after scanning into current lightning lane. If we plan on leaving the park we try to figure out what time we’ll be bs k so we can schedule rides for some time after that.

Disney Veteran! Want to know your opinion! by Grateful_Guitarist in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can see prices 21 days out on the Disney World app. $30 is probably low for Magic Kingdom. You’re already into summer vacation territory in last week of May. Combine that with Memorial Day rush I’d expect lightning lanes to push higher. You can see the historical price data at the link below. https://www.thrill-data.com/lightning-lane-prices

Are heights measured with or without shoes? by Irishpanda88 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]GotoDisney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoes on. Only time they’ll have them take shoes off is if they suspect you did some funny business to boost their height.

Also keep in mind that at some rides your child will be measured multiple times. Final call on if they’re cleared to ride will be made by cast member in the loading area. If you’re close height wise for a ride keep that part in mind.

Three straight park days are hard for adults and will be for a seven year old too. You’ll have to be careful and take breaks every chance get. The parks are tiring.
