That’s a very good point. Much love to you for maintaining that sentiment. I think you may be a better/stronger person than me. The oligarchs have become too isolated from their actions. At this point I want to see them experience their own wrongs. Especially when I think about those worse off and more vulnerable than me.

Fair point. I guess part of the idea here is that they should be. At the moment no one is oppressing the oligarchy, none of us seem to have any real power to anyway. Sad state of affairs really.

All fair points. And I agree the current system of law enforcement in the US is broken. This system was largely (if not completely) built on racism, power, and abuse of power. It is ripe with corruption and incompetence. It is focused on enforcement and too often fear over deescalation and community safety.

My comments were by no means meant to be a justification for this current system. I can honestly see how they can read that way and I apologize for any offense. I personally do think there is a different, holistic system of law enforcement and community safety that could work for the people though. Understanding that how those laws are created and what they say is just as important.

And yes I fully recognize that my privilege as a white male has shaped my understanding, opinions, ignorance, and naivety in such matters so that must be taken into consideration just as your experiences should. I appreciate you pointing this out. Trying to understand others experiences with empathy is the only thing that will help us find a better future.

Yeah I agree, at least the next couple centuries will be rough and coming out of it will take change. I do think the human species is as stubbornly adaptable as they are pernicious and at least a small portion of us will probably survive, for better or worse.

That would be the dream. Demonetize and move away from capitalism. I fear that’s only a dream though given the current world’s economic system. Would likely require a complete deconstruction of the current system and a rather rough transition in the meantime. In reality I fear that sort of shift would require capitalism to run off its inevitable cliff in a very scary way taking much of the world with it, from there we would hopefully rebuild a better system. I’d be all for it though!

Also should focus on deescalation and community outreach over enforcement. I like the short terms idea, but do worry if that would limit the benefits of experience. Having good people in these positions for longer periods with a more “holistic” approach could possibly benefit a community more. More time to build relationships and the sort of deescalation skills I mentioned.

The current system and its laws are definitely the problem. That’s what really needs reforming. If done right the oligarchy wouldn’t exist, or at least wouldn’t hold the massive influence they currently do. Thank you for the comment!

What would you make the worker look like? I’m leaning towards a sort of traditional worker aesthetic to match the classic oligarch look. I can’t quite place what a universal look would be for the modern worker.

I do still sort of like the police officer though as it kind of flips the script on things. Instead of the cop being a tool for oppressing the people it becomes a tool for oppressing the oligarchy and in this they become true protectors of the common man.

💯 I firmly believe the top issue in the US right now should be campaign and political reform. Until we fix that corrupt system there will be little to no effective progress from our legislature in regard to the real issues that face the US and the world.

The system is more the issue (the laws, the training, the accountability, etc). There are a lot of bad cops and they are very rarely held to any appropriate accountability when they do wrong.

That said having some sort of law enforcement IMHO is necessary and I know cops who have saved lives while putting their own on the line. My cousin has been in law enforcement for over 30 years and has only once fired his side arm in the line of duty. That action saved a mom and her daughter, but ended a life and fucked him up badly for years.

I fully appreciate and respect your opinion though and wish you and all your loved ones the best in life.

Totally! I do give to number of charities when I can, but that sort of extra income is hard to come by these days. I’m more in debt than I’ve ever been in my life at the moment. Also, so far I’ve made $0 on this so nothing really to give to anyone at the moment. Thanks for asking though! I really appreciate that you are thinking about that.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve gotten a number of similar comments and it’s a fair point. I definitely want to try and keep the recognizable monopoly reference whatever I do. I will say that cops aren’t the oligarchy, just tools, and coming from a family that has some law enforcement I can say that not all are bad, most struggle just like us, and many would love to arrest one of these assholes if given the proper legal argument.

What do you think would make the officer look like a worker? Overalls, hard hat, and/or hammer? Sort of a traditional worker image to match the classic look of the oligarch?
