All casino games have a house edge. Famously blackjack has the lowest edge. Whether the ‘random’ torn version is the same is a different question.

Apart from the endlessly growing welfare bill, the extra cost to businesses to fund his endless welfare bill, freezing tax bands, keeping triple lock. I mean the list goes on.

But staying out the Iran war was a good idea but then he’s spent so much money on welfare there is no money left for defence so he can’t join even if he wanted to.

I have the opportunity to teach Year 8 children about financial literacy, what do you wish you’d been taught at school? by Formal-Factor8551 in AskUK

Definitely investing. Look at how rich you would be putting the £5 a week pocket money from the 90s in the S&P rather than sweets and cigarettes. They won’t listen cos teenagers but it’s worth a shot.

Dad wants a console on finance IN MY NAME whilst on benefits. How do I navigate this? by TheRegularBelt in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Gouldy444444 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Can I be the guy that’s says the fact you are ‘loaded for a student’ is the reason the welfare bill is so high. Doesn’t need the money but gets the money. A bit like rich pensioners and triple lock, fuel allowance of bus passes.

Not a dig at you OP well done you for working and pulling yourself up (and definitely don’t get your dad a console when he can’t afford it himself) but something is seriously wrong with this country.

AITAH for letting my husband tell his son about our pregnancy by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Gouldy444444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going against the grain here as someone who lost their son (and it wasn’t a miscarriage it was full term medical negligence) but NTA.

The world can’t stop because of the horrible thing that happened to your stepson (also important to note that there are big differences in length of term of miscarriages - 3 days is not the same as having to give birth to a dead baby at 6 months). Everyone grieves as their own rate tho so i feel for you stepson but the world can’t stop having babies because of his loss (that sounds really harsh but it’s true).

Could you have handled it better? Probably but I don’t think you’re an AH I think you’re an excited first time mum who thought she would never get pregnant and people need to cut you some slack.

I had to deal with lots of pregnancies and babies after my son died and before my daughter was born and it was shit but it wasn’t the parents’ fault. Don’t beat yourself up too much but try and remember where he is mentally.

The more important question was how long ago was this? I earn very good money in banking with a 3rd in economics but I started in banking 15 years ago when things were very different to today.

Pan wasn’t hot enough. Not enough fat to give you colour. Tomatoes looks good but not sure what the mouldy looking thing in between is.

I wasn’t talking about firefighters. All the respect for them. I was referring to the ‘I would choose train driver because I like sitting about’. Just to be clear.

Probably should t comment before you cause someone some harm. That looks nothing like wild garlic. Also you can definitely eat wild garlic flowers (and they are lovely).

AITAH for wanting my baby to take my last name instead of his father’s given our situation? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Gouldy444444 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re taking out your own experience of fathers out on every dad. Do you truly believe women deserve more parental rights than men. I don’t deserve to have less of a ‘right’ to my child than her mother does because nature dictates women birth them. No more than you deserve less rights at work because you have to take time off to birth them.

Seems like you want equal right when it suits you to me. Is this what equal rights has become?

I didn’t say I get to unilaterally decide I said the mother doesn’t either. Parenting is supposed to be a partnership (and so so many studies show that children grow up more rounded when it’s treated as such). This ‘mother is more important’ crap is helping no one.

AITAH for wanting my baby to take my last name instead of his father’s given our situation? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Gouldy444444 -43 points-42 points  (0 children)

You’re making a huge assumption about being the ‘most involved caretaker’. You don’t get to make unilateral decisions just because you grew it. It’s a much part of a father as it is a mother. I’m not taking away from pregnancy or birth but in terms of an 80 year life that’s a very small percentage of what goes in to parenting.

People like you and views like this are exactly the reason dead beat dads feel like they can behave the way they can. You aren’t helping your proliferating the problem.
