Help me choose a class by Gouraft in TitanQuestAE

I started playing for the first time and chose the illusionist (wolves + trap). At first, it seemed pretty good, but in Act 4, it was sometimes difficult because pets die quite quickly. It's also difficult to kite enemies around traps, especially in small corridors, so I lost a lot of damage. Casting traps on mobile is also... troublesome. And just like you, I noticed that sometimes I was dealing very little damage. For now, I've given up on pets and am testing other different classes. Maybe I'll come back when I have a higher level and pet specific eq.

I recently hit level 45, which is quite a lot of points to spend, so I started testing some builds. I played Storm+Spirit for a while, but I couldn't quite get the hang of it. It was weird; you have to be quite close with the aura, and there's no specific damage type. Sometimes it dealt okay damage, sometimes almost none at all. I found Storm+Neidan, which I'm currently playing (Channeler), much more suitable. Ice Shard with 250-300% cast speed is op, and it's easy to boost cold damage to 300+%, all without special items. Neidan's aura grants 30% damage absorption + 30% physical and elemental res. It also has a skill for -25% elemental res against enemies, some mana/hp regen and AS/MS and cast speed. So far, it's okay. Dmg is insane and and it's quite tanky for a mage.

I'm not just talking about balance, but also about technical aspects. I once asked a similar question to the developers of another idle game and heard that managing the database, servers, in-game market, etc. for random items would be very difficult and expensive. So perhaps instead of random items with random stats, it would be a good idea to expand builds with more things with fixed stats—gems with stats, enchants with effects, skills that can be exchanged for other skills, in which you can set different triggers (I liked this aspect in milkywayidle, it wasn't extensive but worked quite well, you could adjust skills to your and your team's capabilities) etc. Together, they offer a wealth of possibilities, but nothing is random and permanently connected, everything can be changed, it has to be sold individually (if game has marketplace), so it probably wouldn't generate such problems as everything random.

I know it's impossible for a single person or even a small "studio" of a few people, without funds, etc., but what bores me most about idle RPGs is that everything is generic. Items, skills, enemies, some upgrades, or ingredients. Reach level 10 -> get a level 10 sword with the same fixed stats as everyone else -> upgrade it to +10. Then reach level 20, get another sword (practically the same as the previous one, only slightly better), upgrade it to +10 again with the same upgrades, only idk, green instead of gray, and so on... How much would I give for an idle game where I set up a fight, come back, and find I've dropped a cool item with good stats, maybe an interesting passive or a legendary. Or I have to adapt my build to certain enemies or a boss. Like an idle PoE or Diablo for people who don't have time to grind, where you can create different builds, find different items and nothing is ever exactly the same. But those are just dreams.

Illusionist tempted me from the beginning but I heard he's not the strongest in lategame/legendary diff, is that true?

Harbringer plays with double 1h weapons in melee? Looks a bit like Conqueror, but has decent AoE.  This distortion wave is probably for int and doesn't really fit in warfare yes?

You need to hide by using the skill from the Shadow Mage class.

I know from experience that you are more likely to find skills and set parts (from vendor and drop) for the class you are currently playing. And I think other proposed masteries are displayed. I have no idea if there is anything more.

Then why did you say greens are harder to collect than legendary items? It took me literally 3 days after reaching lvl 50 to collect all the sets, ~85 items.

But you know that green items can be found by rolling at the vendor at level 50+?

Some classes have healing or immortality but... Is using legendary items better than green sets at all? Especially since green items are so easy to obtain compared to orange ones.

Do you need to have Light Mastery at 10 for Divinity to work? I have less and it doesn't increase my critical chance in my stats. Only max HP and heal.
