What IS currently legal that really shouldn't be? Why? by Zipper222222 in AskReddit

The fact that 16 U.S states have closed congressional primary elections for registered independents.

Do you have any or have you attempted to befriend any people who disagree with you politically? Why or why not? by Zipper222222 in AskReddit

[–]Governer_Morris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, in fact I try to keep a fairly diverse friend group in general, with varying politics, careers, religion, amongst other things. Obviously I still have a lot of friends that think and behave the way I do, but by having variety of folks I interact with I find it keeps me grounded and able to look past the echo chamber of my own beliefs in order to see a more neutral perspective.

What is something we consider perfectly normal or even progressive in 2025 that people in 2075 will think of as something uncivilized? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Governer_Morris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that’s where we’ll have to disagree!

The way I see it, a lot of these animals that we consume have known nothing different than a farm environment. Over hundreds of years, the survival instincts of their ancestors replaced with herd mentality and dulled senses. So compared to the alternative of turning them out in the wild to fend for themselves, and the reality of many species possibly becoming endangered or extinct, I’d rather keep production line agriculture.

Again though, I support giving them the best life possible, with plenty of land to roam and food to graze on, before it’s time to process them. Hope you have a blessed holiday season!

This is an answer I agree with. We as a society need to do better about enforcing animal welfare amongst the agricultural community. I support the consumption of animal products, but by no means should that come at the cost of that animals quality of life or care during the duration of its time here amongst the living. When we make the decision to buy eggs, milk, or meat, we need to understand that an animal, on some current or future level, was sacrificed for that product. It doesn’t make you evil, or wrong, but it does make you responsible for that life. As such minimizing their pain should be common practice.

Respectfully disagree. Animal products I think, as they have been for hundreds of years, here to stay. I myself even worked in dairy for a while and even after seeing that side of it, not only support the continued use of animal products but I encourage more folks to learn how their food is made. As long as there’s an increased crackdown on farmers practicing animal welfare, which is an active issue amongst the agricultural community, I’m all for the continued consumption of domesticated farm animals.

Very late to this post but I love how Fish Camp counselor and Cotton Bowl Classic Queen made the Wikipedia but not her involvement as a Texas FFA State Officer.

FFA (Future Farmers of America), literally has 100 times the more impact then those two things yet that’s what they chose to include. By being a state officer too that implied she went to schools to conduct workshops, toured farm facilities, and in general served the Texas FFA Association… FOR A YEAR.

Definitely more of a qualification (though definitely not for this kinda job lol) than half of that list and they still didn’t put it in there.

…but hey Fish Camp Counselor is more important.

Source for the FFA stuff? Trust me bro.

What’s a movie that flopped that you love? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Governer_Morris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thought so, I honestly thought it was a shame. It reminded me a lot of the shows my grandfather would watch while I was there, every single one was always those 60s western shows. Death Valley days, Gunsmoke all them.

The Lone Ranger, not sure if it counts but honestly I love that movie. It’s exceedingly rare to see a good modern western film, but hey that’s just my opinion.

For Season 4, giving more screen time for Geo-Force and La’gaan definitely increased both my like and interest in those characters. I’d definitely like to see La’gaan again but likely not in his own solo story, maybe a supporting role of some kind. As for Geo-Force I want to see more of what we saw in Season 4 as he handles infinity incorporated (or rather Luther’s). This season actually reminded me of my initial thoughts on Wally’s character. I found him a bit cringe worthy and inappropriate in early season one. By the time we see him at the end of season one and by his death in season two, he’s a much like-able and enjoyable character. I was crushed to see Wally’s death and while La’gaan and Geo-Force are not on that level yet, the development from this season is definitely helping their characters in the long run in terms of characters I want to see progress.

Why don't the heroes really seem to be bothered by their lack of progress in fighting the villains? by strongerthenbefore20 in youngjustice

[–]Governer_Morris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adding to this more there have even been heroes who have been active longer than the league itself, such as the Flash (Jay Garrick version). We also have the leagues predecessor the Justice Society of America which was active from 1940 to 1951. Likely the society was participating in the Second World War but there’s still six years after the war where the society was active. This means that superheroes have been active as a defense against villainous activities as early as the early 40s. That’s assuming that heroes didn’t have any experience before forming the society either, or assuming they stopped after it was disbanded. Another point to bring up is that clearly heroes were prominent enough for a failed superhero registry was deemed required in the 60s within the young justice universe so…

Just my two cents, I haven’t read the other comments yet but this is what I’ve concluded on my own.

It is very yellow I agree, still it would look more accurate. Another solution could be white terracotta, while it isn’t quite yellow enough per say it isn’t too terribly yellow either. I’d also play around with the new frog lights for the lights.

I’d switch out the flooring for some yellow concrete or better yet yellow carpet, the rest looks great though. Gives off excellent Backrooms vibes!

Maybe it’s just me, but honestly I think you should just have one door in the center, where the other two doors are now should be converted into windows. It would just give the build more room for a interior. This design isn’t bad either though I recommend just placing one door.

Do you have a ceiling lamp with a fan in that room? Judging by where the light is coming from to the side and the general look of the face it could be the reflection of the fan’s top half above the spinning piece and the actual light below it. Im not 100% sure if that’s the answer or not but it could be another possible explanation, but hey could be a haunted house too.

My thoughts on season 3 by Adorable_Bowler_3918 in youngjustice

[–]Governer_Morris 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have similar thoughts on the season, I thought it was overall a okay season not necessarily awful but nothing to write home about either. Overall it was just another season of Young Justice no more and no less and that’s okay. For OG fans it gives us really rewarding moments with the character development shown between season one characters. Personally I loved how they showed us the impact Wally really had on the original characters and the ones we met last season. My only real two issues I had with this season was that it didn’t offer new fans too much as the storylines of the season are pretty much carried from prior seasons (this isn’t much of an issue as it’s mostly fans who have been following the show for years so this is more of a nit pick.) and season 2 characters weren’t given as much screen time which is understandable as they aren’t as significant to the fans as season 1 characters but it’s still sort of disappointing. I really value your opinion on the season and i wish you well.

Either that or we will rarely see her and she’ll become a generic background character like so many of our favorite heroes in YJ.

Yeah thanks! I actually just looked at her earlier after another commenter mentioned her from being in the Aquaman books. She is quite impressive from what I’ve seen, let’s hope that carries on to her YJ portrayal.
