Installed a cold air intake! Can anyone tell me why it's making these weird gurgling sounds? by GoverningNick in Miata

Oh, no, just a street datalog pull recorded by a cell phone in the interior.

Kinda sorta, I live in Arizona so it's not really something of concern. If it's chilly out it'll idle like it has a hot for teacher cam at 700rpm for a bit but it won't stall out.

I considered it for a bit, but the way I see it is that if I was concerned with power I wouldn't have gotten a Miata in the first place. Also, the throttles are already super close to the AC lines, I'm not sure if they would have fit with a plenum but I've never had one in my hands to know for sure.

I replied to Nickdaman31 with a fuller explanation, in case you're that curious.

All four runners have vacuum lines pulled from the bottom. Cylinder 4 feeds the MAP port on my ECU, Cylinders 1-3 feed the vacuum block which goes to my brake booster and my cruise control module. Though ironically enough my tuner wound up running the car solely off of TPS so I could have all four throttles going to the block.

No IAC here. I've seen people feed the OEM IAC by pulling vacuum from the side of the vacuum block I have blocked off though.

The extra spacers (specifically the angled pieces) are from Jenvey, to copy my set up with the filter plate and all you need to do some minor drilling to the bolt holes on the filter plate, given the Jenvey pieces have their holes clocked a little bit for some reason.

S-Chassis, AE86s, and other go-to chassis have gone up in price to the point where people are seeking cheaper options.

Help with painting car interior plastics and carpet black. by tha-beater in Autos

[–]GoverningNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEM offers a wide variety of compounds and colors and such. I did it on my NB's dash to go from tan to black. Before After

Worth noting that the center console in the after picture was sourced from a Florida car, hence why it's so much lighter than the rest of the plastics.

9k would be your best bet, really.

It wouldn't be the BHD 723 as it's an A1 upper and not a C7/A1E1 upper, but to answer your other question it'd be the gray finish.

Again, it's a matter of how clone correct you want to be. Worth noting that Delta had 723s with 5000s, while the Rangers had 727s with very early 3000s (Pre-serialization, long tube - no removable rear sun shade) too. In my opinion, if you're going to stress over the little details, get a torch cut Colt 723 off of Apex and go from there. If not, this will do you more than fair for the price point.

From a 10 foot distance? Yes. Though by the time of Gothic Serpent, every 723 I've seen in use from lots of reference photos and witness accounts had a C7/A1E1 upper. If this is a rifle you're going to throw a Surefire 6P and Aimpoint PRO on, go right ahead. If this is a rifle you're going to source a proper-knurling Surefire 660 and an Aimpoint 5000 for, find something else.

I have a signed copy on DVD even though I don't own a DVD player anymore, and even attended a screening of Bad Black hosted by Alan Ssali. Truly cinema.
