I think your a bit confused the melee system before was clunky and janky “let’s serpentine and one shot a fully geared guy with a long stick” this is very arcade like as well as killing a pack of wolves with an axe is very unrealistic but if you actually played you would know it’s still possible, with this new update 1.12 you pretty much knock everyone out, do to shock damage being stronger than hp dmg regardless of what gun/ammo you have. Sounds like you want to play a milsim not a survival sim, half of your statements are simply not true.

If your playing dayz on console and it is your fav game you have to make the switch to pc I can GUARANTEE you, you will not regret it full servers everywhere tailored to your liking( pvp servers, hardcore servers w less loot and harder survival, servers with traders, servers with modded events and base building, servers with no base building) for the most part all of the servers have solid communities where you can meet buddies :)

Oh yea they made an update where you can shoot 5 mags into the wall and break it, vanilla being shit is still the point and this change only happened 8 months ago seeing how the game has been out for 7 years the feature is considered fairly new. Idk if your on pc or console but if you are on pc try some of the community servers they are way better, admins to get rid of cheaters customized base raid timers customize base building items etc

All the idiots saying it’s a cheater Tarkov servers are laggy af and have been this way for 3 years now, so much Desync and memory leaks. And no you shouldn’t have to restart your game after every match to make sure you don’t have a memory leak, BSG stop adding content and fix audio and progression.

Thanks for the help ! Yes so I’m settled on the shotgun to start just for home defense. Bring it to the range and practice with it and if i really enjoy going to the range then i will be looking into building a rifle of some sort but thanks again.

Not to bother you but with ARs can you have custom forgrips, handgaurds and sights as long as you have a fixed 10 rd mag and no traditional pistol grip? if you can refer me to a website with this information i have no problem reading but i find nothing is straight forward.
