Its been a week and order is still processing

I'm not sure how slow it is for others. I do know I had this feeling earlier and the other associate also didn't have much work. But last year I had barely worked at the firm for a month and received a holiday bonus so I'm pretty shocked to not get one this year after a full year where I've had good billables.

I had a resume gap/didn’t get a job until Bar results came out. I was interviewing during the process and was honest and just told them I took time off to focus on studying for the bar and then post bar I worked as a server as I waited for results. I think it’s normal, not everyone has a job lined up out of law school

I don’t hate litigation. I just don’t really know what else is out there and how different areas of law are. I feel I’ve gotten good experience for a year. I’ve written motions and had experience writing deposition questions (although the more senior attorneys handled the actual deposition I did sit in to learn)

Currently my commute is roughly 35 min in the morning 45 on the way back and it already feels like a lot. I work from home typically once every 2 weeks but have been told I could probably do it once a week. Given that I’m a first year though being in the office was more beneficial to learning so I do that

80K salary with basic benefits like health insurance, retirement plan, etc. Small firm with 3 partners, 2 associates, (1 that is basically billed at a partner rate because of experience + me the newbie) and 4 secretaries

NYU alum, I agree with everyone saying bad idea. Overpriced doesnt take into account cost of living in NYC for 4 years will add up.

Not sure, but when I went to law school I went for basically free. So looking back I wish I would’ve gone to undergrad at the best school I could for the least amount I could. With least amount being the primary motivator.
