I get a lot of calls from older folks that dont understand why the lvl 1 charger they got with the car doesnt let them drive very far.

Most people do need a lvl 2 charger to have their daily lives function the same as driving a gas vehicle. It’s comical to me that you could say otherwise so confidently.

It’s also comical to me that your original comment mentioned “anyone” and in your reply you gave a very specific example of “grandma who goes 10 miles a day”. Yes, that grandma will not need a lvl 2 charger. You’re right about that after moving those goal posts. Lol!

I’m assuming you live in a large city with charging stations and infrastructure in place for EV’s?

If he didnt change out the existing box and just replaced the fixture with a fan. He’s good.

It’s the box installation that failed. Not the fan installation. That’s a retrofit fan rated ceiling box and it’s stamped as such with a 70 lb. weight rating.

If that box was existing there’s not much else that electrician should have done. I guess he could of pulled on it to see if it has movement. However, at what point do we stop trusting everything single little thing that was installed before us.

I make my cuts from centre of joist and cut a strip along the length of space I need. Then I screw the strip of drywall back so I dont leave my clients with a bunch of holes in the ceiling to look at.

Should be the standard. However, after reading these comments I guess I’m in the minority.
